Gifting Store Bought Items

Hello!

So im having an issue with my xbox redeeming something. Im trying to redeem a gift that was sent to me and its saying i already own the product, which i do not. I would like to redeem this gift, i check my add-ons and storage for the add-on that was purchased for me and nothing is there but the game the add-on / gift is for but the store is saying i cannot redeem the product due to me already owning said add-on / gift. Please let me redeem this product. I have a gift code and everything, thank you!

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. Please try redeeming the code again in the official website Microsoft account | Redeem. If you are still facing issues with the code, I advise you to contact the live support to check your account from their end and see what happened. Hey thanks for the reply! So I was not eligible for a refund, and since that’s the case is it possible to regift the code to someone else? Both the account that purchased said gift and my account that was meant to redeem it agree that if neither of us can accept the gift, I would like to give it to someone random in the community. Please let me know if this is possible. Thank you in advance!

There is no way to redeem items from other stores. You must recieve gifts and purchase items from your region's store

Hello , unfortunately it is not possible to request refunds for Gift Cards once they have been redeemed into an account, so to be able to request a refund the cards would have to have been purchased in digital format directly from the Microsoft store and could not have been redeemed.

By your description the cards should be physical cards that you buy at partner stores, in cases like this the refund has to be requested from the store where you bought it, and the cards cannot be scratched or damaged.

No I tried refunding the items my freind bought with the gift cards I wasn't trying to refund the cards just the items cause I wanna spend them on what I want but my freind spent so I need help refunding the items that were bought
