    There's currently a known issue with purchasing in general which could be the issue https://support.xbox.com/xbox-live-status?xr=shellnav You may want to wait until that is up and
    have him try it again. If there are still issues, then you'd want to contact support about a refund.

    Game gifting problem

    Ok so I gifted a 3 month game pass to a friend and when he tries to redeem it he gets an error message saying that it is for another region, I checked when purchasing and it says for Australia only, that's fine, we both live in Australia, same suburb even,
    both consoles have location set to Australia, and my Paypal pays with AUD and there is no VPN or anything to get in the way either.

    Is this a known issue, is there anything I can do besides get a refund?

    Gifting game problem

    The gifting option is region locked. So if he lives in a different country than you, it won't work. You would need to contact support and speak to billing for a refund. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or Contact Us | Xbox Support

    I only asked for the error message, if the code that you entered doesn't contain the letters as the message said "Codes shouldn't contain the following characters: A, E, I, O, U, L, S, 0, 1, 5"

    You may need to ask to your friend to double check this.

    By the way, if your friend lives in a different country. Please ask them to refund the gift. Because gifts are region locked
