gifting a purchased game

I bought an Xbox game that I wanted to gift but didn't have the email address to send it to. Now I can't access the game at all. I don't have an Xbox account. I bought it through the Microsoft store. Does anyone know how to accomplish this now?

The option to gift is only available in the store at the time of purchase. You have to buy it as a gift, you can't gift a game you have already purchased.

Keep in mind you can also buy a game as a gift using the gift card and send it to the other account here's how to do that

Have you checked the inbox of the Microsoft Account Primary Email address you were signed into when the purchase was completed? Let us know with a reply if that helps

 

I pulled it up several times. I click view or manage in the email. It takes me to the order history. I click get order help. Nothing.

It's in my order history. How do I gift it?

 

You cannot gift games that you have already purchased on your account. To gift a game, you have to select buy as a gift on the game page on the store and continue from there.

 

Then can I return it? I don't even have an XBox account.

 

Your Xbox account is linked to your Microsoft account, whether it's Hotmail, Outlook, or any other Microsoft service.

 

In some cases yes you can return it. Your circumstances sound like they could be one of them. Unfortunately you will need to speak to an agent at Xbox Support to try
and obtain it.

 

I don't have an XBox. I guess I just threw my money away. That doesn't seem right.

 

Actually, you would have to fill out a refund request form. Support no longer issues refunds directly.
