    Gifted game to friend on different region


    I gifted a game dlc to a friend on America. I'm in the UK. They tried to redeem it but did not work. Now know I can't gifted to friends in a different region.

    When I go to order history it won't give option to get a refund. Can some one help with this as it's money wasted as friend can't get the game

    If you can’t manually refund it you’ll have to contact customer service. No one here can look at your account or anything to do with money

    If your friend bought the game as a gift through the Xbox Store he can request a refund.

    Seeing as the gifting of games etc is region locked you wont be able to play the game that was gifted if you are in a different region as the purchaser/gifter.

    Redeeming Xbox Gift Cards from Different Regions

    Gift cards are region locked and so is not possible to redeem them in a different region. Your friend will need to send you a gift card in your currency.

    There are a couple of reasons gifts are region locked, taxation laws in different Countries and game licence within each Country. It does state at point of purchase that gifts are region locked. Your friend will have to attempt a refund. Sorry.

    Wrong region code

    You can't get an exchange code if you are in a different region to where the purchaser is. It does say on the gifting section about only working in the region it was purchased in. As stated your friend will either have to try to get a refund or gift to
    another friend in the same region.
