gifted game cant play with friend

so I gifted my friend naruto shippuden ultimate ninja storm 4.. we send an invite to fight each other but when we accept it the game crashes to the main title screen and never connects to the lobby..

we also have a similar issue with dragon ball xenoverse 2 where we cant be in a multiplayer lobby together but we can fight together...

can some1 help with one or both issues...

thank you, and we have been trying but contacting support for a new code or refund but it has proven to be a challenge

my friend gifted me killer instict definitive edition but when i try to redeem it its tells me to "contact the seller to get a code that works in your region" i've tried changing regions to his and the timezone bu it doesnt work
how do i fix this
