Ik heb vandaag de nieuwe dlc voor Ark survival evolved gekregen , hij woont in Engeland en dat valt onder een andere regio. ik heb de code geprobeerd in te wisselen maar dat gaat niet.Niet op xbox live en niet op xbox.com , kan ik de code omwisselen voor
een code uit mijn eigen regio? of kan hij zijn geld nog terug krijgen?

If he gifted it through Xbox, he would need to contact Xbox customer support if he wants a refund. The codes from the gifting option are region locked and will only work in the region they were gifted from.

Thanks for reaching out to us! If you received a gift from someone in a different region then it would not be redeemable. In this case, it would be best for the gifter (your friend) to request a refund for the purchase since you are unable to redeem it.
He can request a refund by filling out the
Refund Webform and must have the order ID number, which can be found in his Microsoft account purchase history at

https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders.

After he submits the request, he’ll receive confirmation and follow-up emails that will include instructions on how to keep track of the status of his request.
If there are questions about the process or he has not heard anything within 48 hours, then please reply to the confirmation email sent to him.

Thanks for the fast reply , but i have couple more questions. Can he still send me a gift dlc by setting his xbox region to the netherlands and then buy it, or does it then still see it as a differnt region? It is a bit weird because i tried to set my
xbox one English United Kingdom and it still says it's a differnt region while the xbox one it self is region free.Next on the xbox store where you can find the dlc it says the dlc is region free , when i buy a giftcard in the store with money on it and i
redeem it while my xbox is on region united Kingdom it turns the euro into pounds so why do gifts work differnt?

Gifts are set up by region and will not be redeemable if it was purchased from a different region. Changing consoles region to another region falsely will not change the outcome. The only option would be to have the person that purchased the gift to attempt
to reverse the purchase of the gift as the code will not be able to be redeemed in a different region. Refund Webform
