    Gift refund issue


    I purchased a DLC add on for a friend (Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Extra Pass) while it was on sale for half price (approximately $20.43 without GST) but because they are a different region they could not redeem it. I'm Australian and they're Canadian. I was
    still charged and they have no way of returning it or anything. It says the recipient can't do anything on their end. Can I get a refund for this? The code is unused and purchased within half an hour of making this post. We didn't know their was region issues
    with this and neither can seemingly do anything. There was now warning or message to say it couldn't be done either. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as this was rather disappointing and sad out come.

    (Update: They purchased it themselves in hopes we would be able to now reject and resolve the gift. Should this effect anything as the gift was sent and still not received)

    Please refrain from creating multiple threads regarding the same issue. But are you asking about refunding the gift card or the content bought with the gift card?

    If a gift card is redeemed, it can't be refunded. It would be up to the retailer you purchase it from as to if it can be refunded otherwise.

    You and the person who gifted the game need to contact support both with the same number and ask for them to refund it and/or open a case number so you can verify that you want to refund it. That is how get this issue resolved, I have seen this issue before
    and it got that resolved, so hopefully that will resolve this issue that way. Please also note there is a time limit on refunds on this gift issue.

    Hi there.

    Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done by Microsoft in terms of redeemed gift cards. You will need to take the gift cards back to the retailer where you purchased them from and explain the issue. They may issue a new gift card or refund your purchase.

    As Brad said, request a refund. With that, I would then recommend that you look into purchasing a Xbox gift card FOR HIS COUNTRY for him to purchase it on his account. Again stressing region there, as the gift cards are region specific as well.
