    Hi all. First time poster. I was wanting to ask if I can buy a friend in another country a gift card of some sort, say xbox live gift card so he could extend his live online gaming or purchase other games. Is this possible?

    Unfortunately no, if he were to redeem a Currency card he would be unable to use it since it is a from a different country.

    Unfortunately no as well. They are limited to the country.

    Last I checked, Xbox LIVE Gold codes are not region locked. So it should work.

    actually gold cards are too last time I checked sometimes you may get one that is not but a lot of the newer ones are region locked too.

    News to me. I had someone in the UK have a tournament among friends online and gave the winner a 3 month code, which was my friend who lives in the same city as I do. They must've changed it recently.

    Promotion codes might be without Region lock, because you could attempt in a tournament without Regional restriction and would have to recieve the same winning-Award

    though Gold ppc have to be Region locked because even though Prices might be identical tax may vary strongly and this would concern your government, for example switzerland tax 8% Germany tax 19%
