Gift cards received as gifts

I received a gift from family 2000 miles away. Tried to redeem the code and could not. Reached out to Microsoft for assistance and they denied. ( Very disappointing. MS says the card and the receipt must go back to the store purcased at .... card was
not activiated by retailer. My family member no longer has the receipt and the store purchased at is not available where I live.....so my only option is to mail the card 2000 miles, have them work with their bank for proof of purchase, return to the retailer
and get it activated then have them mail it back to me. All this BS for a measly $25. The card has a unique # and they can see if it was used or not....why can't they see if it was purchased. Very disappointing.....shame on you Microsoft. Really making Sony
look better.

Pretty disappointed

received a free gift card from microsoft on my xbox live went to redeem it and i cannot as its in usd.. not pounds very upset as i could use the gift card anyone help? Be very very much appreciated

wrong amount for year subscription promotion

i bought a year subscription when there was a promotion to receive 15$ gift card but today i only received a 5$ gift card in a message.

Sorry you're upset. However, this is the way it must be done to prevent fraud.

I'm not saying that your family is committing fraud but without proof of purchase it's difficult to lay proper claim to something.

Perhaps, in the future, if your family would like to do this again have them email you the code. That way if there is an issue they have the original copies on hand.

Different winner here. There were three prizes for me: game pass subscription, gift card, and Xbox gift card.

I've received the first two things. Still waiting on the Xbox gift card.

If you redeem your Microsoft Rewards points for a $5 Xbox Gift card. You receive $5 on your Microsoft account. You do not receive a physical gift card.

The $10 gift card is a promotion from microsoftstore.com. You would have needed to preorder from them in order to receive the gift card.

its not renewal points because the promotion was for a gift card with a key and i received a message for a gift card for 5$ and not 15$ like the promotion promised.
