    Hi

    I’ve accidentally redeemed gift cards to the wrong account which isn’t tied to my son’s Xbox. Why can’t I buy a gift card with the funds so I can correct my error?

    Or is there another solution?

    Normally the Visa gift cards that are purchased at stores like that do not work for purchases on Xbox and this is through the Bank that handles the gift card because they are thinking that you are trying to purchase a renewing subscription and these types
    of purchases can not be made with the gift cards like that.

    Gift cards cannot be used to purchase gift cards. The Microsoft account balance is essentially the same as a gift card since funds typically come from Xbox gift cards.
