"Gift card not activated"

Discus and support "Gift card not activated" in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; so I go to put in a gift card my friend gave me and it said the card wasn't activated and to contact the merchant.     so I go to put in a gift card my friend gave me and it said the card wasn't activated and to contact the merchant. I can't do this because I don't know where they got the card and they moved away so I can't ask them. How do I fix this.

    I have recently activated two $ 25 gift cards and when I went to the market I had that money before gift cards (2$) . I tried to reactivate them but it says they were already activated. Can anyone help me?

    How do I get my Xbox live gold card to be activated

    It would have to be done at the store or you would have to call the 800 number that should be on the gift card or the receipt to talk to someone about activating the card. Gift cards are sold by third-party retailers and Microsoft has no power to activate them
