Gift card lost receipt

I won a gift card for 3 months of Xbox Live but it didnt not come with a reciept with the 25 digit code and Im not able to get the original purchase information. I spoke with customer service on the phone and they said there is no way I can redeem it. but
in another forum I saw a microsoft moderator tell the poster that they could help him redeem the gift card.

Is there a way I can redeem the gift card?

You would have to contact whoever you won the card from to see if they can get you the code.
