Gift card issue please help.

Okay, so I purchased a gift card the other day, I've redeemed it but now I have no idea how to get the store to use the money on that redeemed gift card to buy things from the Xbox One store instead of taking money off my debit card. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys quick question here, i am a British person, would it be possible for me to buy an xbox gift card for my American friend? the card im purchasing is online and it emails you a code, would it work on her Xbox? would i have to purchase the $20 or the £20
one

Would this even work at all because i was gonna send her the code so she could redeem it on her xbox

Help and advice would be much appreciated!

If you buy the american one e.g. $20 like you mention and get the code for that and pass it on it would work. I wouldnt go with the british one £20 as i dont think it would work. You could use amazon.com to buy the code, using them i believe you could get
the code sent straight to your friends email for her to redeem

Did you buy an out of region card? If you bought a us currency card but your account is uk that won't work

also if you are trying to buy a backwards compatibility game or a membership balance doesn't work with them
