Gift card code says deactivated

So I brought 2 £25 gift cards today and I went to redeem them right after I brought them but they both say deactivated I have the receipts to prove I brought them but they're saying code is deactivated. I went back in the store and they said to contact microsoft please can I get some help as I don't want to lose out on £50

Hello Fun_111, If you bought a Gift Card or a Subscription card that was deactivated, you must contact Xbox support via chat so that they can help you.

NOTE: You will need the purchase invoice for your gift card.

Go to: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us/

See the bottom left part of the page and make sure that the page has the correct region that you are in (ex: United States - English for USA)

If not, click on it then select the correct region that you are in.

Check and confirm that you are within the available time of support under Contact times.

Click Contact us

Select the drop-down menu options that will match your concern.

On the page, see the provided support articles that may help you with your concern. Click See contact options if further assistance is needed.

On the next page, select either Chat online or Request a call option then follow or enter the needed details.

i recently wrongly purchased a 3 xbox one apex coins gift cards and i tried to sell them independently online , and of course i got scammed ,is it possible to deactivate the gift card code, rendering it useless and have it refunded from my seller?

No there is not. This is unfortunately a risk you potentially take when trying to sell gift codes independently online.

If you have a receipt for the gift card you could try speaking to where you purchased the gift card from to see if they are able to deactivate this card and supply you a replacement.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with redeeming a code you purchased.

Typically, when a code is deactivated you need to contact the retailer, as per the article titled

Troubleshoot gift card and code issues.

Since its currently in a deactivated state, I would have to recommend that you
Contact Xbox Customer Support, as they would be much better equipped to assist you in addressing this matter further.

If you purchased this from a store, you should take it back along with the receipt, as it looks like it wasn't activated. If the card hasn't been activated, support couldn't really help as they have no proof you purchased it.
