Gift card balance doesn't work for Xbox 360 games!

As said if you have access to your old 360 then you can use your credit that way.

But you need a registered debit credit card to download even the free 360 games on xbox one . 🤔

Hi Jax, you have a legit credit card or Paypal in your Microsoft / XBOX account. In spite of everything, you still need a legitimate means of payment

You should be able to use the gift card/MS account balance on a xbox 360 to make the purchases.

Basically it has something to do with the Xbox 360 using the Marketplace rather than the MS store for purchases it was never really integrated for the MS account balance to be used in the Marketplace and unfortunately do not see them making the change.

Like I said if you know anyone that owns a 360 or you own one yourself you can sign into it with your account and make the purchase and with the games being backwards compatible whenever you sign into a Xbox One with that account these games would automatically
show up in your ready to install section.

TIL about all these problems relating to the accessibility of the last gen of xbox. I'm glad it's still around and seeing use but sad that these threads are as common place as I am seeing them and not having a simple go to fix for.

You need a credit card on file for 360 games, 360 titles are not available in all regions digitally so you may not be able to purchase certain games that way.
