    I'm trying to gift a game (ESV: Skyrim SE for those curious) to a friend of mine who doesn't have Xbox Live.

    Will they still be able to access the game download without Live, or is it a requirement to accept the gift?

    EA access is only working with special ea access gift cards which afaik are not released yet. Usual microsoft gift cards are NOT working!

    As long as they can sign in, they can download it. They don't need Gold to download it.

    How can I access the gift card? In my order history when I purchased the gift card it says i got "miscellaneous credit" of $1.25 added to my microsoft account, not a gift card.

    Unfortunately that is not possible. I've made gift purchases and neither of my friends living in a different region could gain access to retrieve the gift because they lived in a different country.
