Forgotten password

Heya!

I have forgotten my Games for Windows, the main problem is that my microsoft account password doesn’t fit to GFWL. I can log into my xbox account through MS site but not through the GFWL app. The biggest problem is that when I click "Forgot your password?"
in GFWL app/windows, it redirects me to Non-Existing Pages (former GFWL pages). Is there any possibility to retrieve my password? All my Xbox&GFWL&Rockstar&Microsoft accounts are connected and use the same e-mail address.

PS I am trying to log into my GFWL through Steam (it is required to log into GFWL account in order to play games such as Mortal Kombat, Fallout 3, Dark Souls etc).

I am able to connect and play online for GFWL. Perhaps you can try to reinstall the GFWL client.

If reinstalling the GFWL client did not work then you may be one of the many users affected by the recent GFWL issue. Read the link below. It is the official announcement made by a member of GFWL support. You will have to wait until they resolve the issue.

this link, it is true. But knowing MS they might waffle.

 

Games for Windows Live has never been a decent platform IMO..... Sure you can earn achievements but, Steam is also an option for PC gaming. That's the main problem.

 

It is shutting down. Some of the game publishers have already patched their games over to Steam. As for the other titles not yet transferred over, we will have to wait and see to find out what happens. Hopefully, they will all be transferred to Steam
eventually.

 

The games that have already been transferred to steam, will you still be able to unlock achievement past July 1st? And do you have a link for the games that have already been transferred? Thanks guys!

 

Getting any official announcements from MS about this is like getting blood out of a stone. I find this thread on the Steam forums:

Basically, if a game has had its GFWL DRM removed and you purchased the game via Steam, the update for said game should have already have been applied and the game will no longer use GFWL - which would also imply that the game no longer has any achievements
for GFWL either.

If you have purchased a game via the now defunct Games for Windows Marketplace or as a retail disc, and the publisher has moved the game to steam, you need to use your CD-key for steam activation.

If one of your games has not been migrated to Steam when GFWL shuts down, it is safe to say it will no longer play. Which would be a bit of a problem.

 

lets be honest GFWL is utterly *** and Microsoft should *** off back to where they came from.
