Bought game add-on but cannot download via GFWL marketplace!

Ok i bought SSF4 costume pack but when i go to GFWL marketplace it says "There was an error retrieving your purchase history. Please sign out and try again later" If i bought something shouldn't i be able to USE it?

Hi, i tried to play Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection but GFWL can´t connect. Say "Error retrieving purchases history. Please sign out and try again later".

I have visited severals pages and forums but nothing worked.

Please can you give details of what you are trying to do please. My understanding is that Games For Windows Live was closed in 2014.

 

The marketplace has closed, but you are/were able to still download your purchases through the desktop client. You can even still redeem GFWL keys if you use the xbox app. Also several of the GFWL game servers were still running (Fable 3 for example).

I think every so often M$ will try to shut it down and see if anyone notices, but they won't keep me from my purchases.

It's been broken for me for years. Every time I try to ask about it, I get told to (a) reinstall the client, (b) make sure I have the right e-mail address, or (c) mess with compatibility settings. None of which actually work.

I get it if they don't want to support it any more. But they should move all games and licenses over to the Microsoft Store, or else provide Steam keys. Don't just cut us off from our downloads with no way to access them.

 

They will also say to talk to steam support, and steam support will say to talk to microsoft. I have no idea why Steam would be involved, most of these games don't even touch steam.

it was working fine for me (on vista x64) up until December (2017), then i changed to win 8.1 pro x64 for 3 weeks (during this period it stopped (there was an error retrieving your purchase history))

then i changed to win 10 pro x64 and it still doesn't work, they should change our downloads to store or give us steam keys like you said

 

It was working until last 2017 last checked in November/December. I had to do a fresh installation of Windows 10 and have got this annoying error. The last time it happened I had to find an installer from 2015 to get it to work and a fresh installation,
which I am not prepared to do this time. I want to play the games I purchased digitally and the DLCs.
I also tried on another pc on which I did a fresh windows 7 installation and I still got the same error. Microsoft please fix this as you have been told since March of this year.

 

I believe this is the problem and a simple fix on Microsoft end.

Been experiencing this myself for months now too.

MS refuse to acknowledge this service even exists anymore, even though they committed to supporting customers who had used GFWL in the past. Speak to them on the phone, nobody knows about it.

I have games and DLC I paid for and want to access. This is breaking DRM rules as it stands.
