GFWL Client Error - "There was an error retrieving your purchase history"

Okay peoples I am sorry to be the one who must opens your eyes.... Microsoft\Windows closed a service that you payed for ,and from that moment , will not be anymore responsible about the outcome of this. They told that now is in the hands of steam, the one
who where pushing you , when GFWL was active, to buy from GFWL. Now Steam deny this responsibility and will not only don't recognize the contents they owned you but they will\can even erase contents from your library. For me I calculated that they take me
more than 100$ of games contents without lawful explanation and refuse to admit that they can't do this. Furthermore , we are forced to accept new licences agreements nearly each 4 days. If you read them, you will see that they are making you abandon your
rights of ownership but telling you that you payed for a "Service", and not a game, who they can manipulate,modify and put a End to the "Service" without warning. The only place you can buy games that you can put on a dvd or your drive without the need of
a platforme to make it run, like a real dvd games, is GOG. But this will not last long because the big money maker will do everything to take them down, just like our humans rights, who are smaller and smaller everyday.... Oh and take some time so surf on
the web and learn some info on Win10, so you can know that your drives are full opens to M and Corporations. Take care all.

GFWL client, can't retrieve purchase history

I've tried many times on many systems.

GFWL client always comes back with "There was an error retrieving your purchase history. Please sign out and try again later"

Since nobody has posted anything new on this thread for almost two weeks I wanted to let you guys know I got a response on my Twitter message to @XBoX Support. I asked them if there was any word on a fix, or if they were working on it at all. Their Response
was: "Hi there! This is something that we're actively looking into at the moment. We greatly appreciate your patience regarding this "

I too think that Blue Frost was wrong, but after four months, I also don't think they want to really fix it. They have the servers, all they need to do is simply set something up to verify games purchased, which simply doesn't take all that long!

 

I suggest everyone who is affected by this send an email to all the major game journalism websites, IGN, Gamepot, Kotaku, etc. What Microsoft is doing is completely unprofessional, and most likely illegal.

 

So, just tried to load up my Fable 3 install that used to work and couldn't load save due to DLC authentication (its all installed).

tried to reinstall gfwl but no matter what I do I get the,

"There was an error retrieving your purchase history. Please sign out and try again later"

All I want to do is re-authenticate/download my Fable III DLC, I have tried uninstall gfwl/ reboot / reinstall also tried that with compatibility win 7 settings on gfwl client....

Such a crock that this is even a problem. Don't we love digital content and the cloud, This makes me even less likely to ever buy anything from the windows 10 marketplace, what a bitter flavor of loss :/

 

I have 15 -20 games and various DLC's attached to my account that I can't play now, why is this an issue!!! It was fine for years, GFWL still works in Steam games that are compatible like Street Fighter X Tekken, but GFWL client is unresponsive, what gives!?

 

Because Microsoft doesn't care about it's user base in the slightest, they have your money already, they are done with you.

 

The first game I have bought on the Internet is gone. There are no emails or posts to inform me in advance. Kind of disappointed at Microsoft. Maybe I should backup all purchased games on other platforms.

 

Well I thought I made a post last night and it appears to be gone. But I will say it again. Microsoft this is unacceptable. We are the people who put our hard earned cash into support your company and this is what happens. Its been 2 months and still
this issue hasn't been fixed. I would suggest moving the platform to the Windows app store so people will be able to download their games into the on going future. Not to say leave Games For Windows Live out of the picture cause not everyone is using Windows
10 yet but making this step will help us out. I have bought a few games on the platform and one of them is Blaz Blue which is kind of rare considering its the only port that'll allow you to play online. I hope this will get fixed cause this is silly its
taking this long to solve the problem.

 

I agree. All I want to do is download my DLC, but I've been unable to do this for months. Now MS claim they want to make Windows and Xbox a unified platform? HA there is no way people will be moving from Steam with this level of support. I can still download
games I bought 15 years ago on Steam.

 

Does anyone actually think they are looking into this? It's been months and still not a peep other than "we have no updates at this time". What a joke of a company.

Windows Store will go the same way. What a great idea to offer AAA games on Windows Store to try to make up for the fiasco that was GFWL. Oh wait, Windows Store games don't support SLI/CF, ExFullscreen, Gsync/Freesync, and have VSYNC forced.

I have the same issue. I was trying to download my gears of war PC from games for windows. This is what shows up for me.

Same here I can't download my Gears of War PC version!!! I bought it in 2011 and it even says it in the games for windows page....but M$$$$$ says "Screw you" we got your money 4 years ago too bad so sad!! Thank you very much!!!!

BUT HEY YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE ULTIMATE VERSION FOR $45 CAD......Windows 10......so I did!! LOSER ME!!!
