    Can you please fix these servers and actually keep them up so we can play the games we paid for?

    Sorry to hear you're having trouble! Are you still running into trouble with the client? If so, have you tried a full PC reboot to see if there's any change?

    I've tried many times on many systems.

    GFWL client always comes back with "There was an error retrieving your purchase history. Please sign out and try again later"

    Hey again!

    Sorry to hear you're still having trouble. Check are you signing in from the same network connection or from somewhere else? If you're on the same connection, try resetting your network by unplugging network hardware for 30 seconds and reconnecting.

    Hey there djc5166.

    Thanks for clarifying! We were able to test this out on our own machines and didn't run into any trouble, so that we don't repeat any steps, what troubleshoot have you tried already? It may be worth uninstalling the client completely, restarting PC, and then
    re-downloading it to see if there's any change. Keep us in the loop and thanks a ton for your patience with this.

    I've tired multiple installs/machines from multiple networks, It is not my machine. My GFWL purchases are simply not available.

  12. I too have been having this error for several weeks now. I've found comments across different sites like Steam, True Achievement, and XboxAchievements that indicate others are having this issue as well. We would really appreciate your help. I can log
    into GFWL services with my physical games, but need the client for all of my digital purchases. I try to log in and get the same message while it tries to sync my account
    "There was an error retrieving your purchase history. Please sign out and try again later."

    I have been trying everything I can find online for suggestions to fix this and nothing has worked:

    • I have tried running compatibility modes.
    • Running as administrator.
    • Deleting and reinstalling the client.
    • I've granted it access through firewall and even tried with my firewall completely disabled.
    • Ensured everything on my system was up to date (including my router and modem)
    • Rebooting computer and all internet hardware

    Again, we'd really appreciate your help. Let me know if you'd like me to try anything else or message you any details about my machine that might help. I will even call in if it helps, but would prefer to have a direct line to somebody. Calling support
    for GFWL issues gets me nowhere. Last time I spent 4 hours on the phone getting transferred around since GFWL support is pretty nonexistent these days.

    I'm having this problem as well. For me, it's Fable 3. The game itself will run, and it appears to be connected to the correct gamertag - has my profile pic and points displayed, and tells me when friends are online. But when I try to download any of
    the DLCs inside the game, I get error messages, and if I try to log in to the Games for Windows Marketplace app, either through the game or directly (which I have downloaded and installed straight from XBox.com repeatedly, in compatibility mode and normally,
    with Microsoft Essentials and without, and many, many reboots), while it accepts my username and password, it does not appear to be connecting to my account, as in that app my profile picture is blank, there are no achievement points, and it cannot see my
    purchase history. "There was an error retrieving your purchase history. Please sign out and try again later."

    I have also tried providing an exception in my firewall, and logging in to the XBox app first (which allows me to launch Fable 3 as well, but still is no help with the DLC at all). I also copied the paid DLC codes out of Steam and added them manually to
    my XBox account. The codes were accepted and it said they were added to my account, but the game still cannot see them. And since Fable 3 isn't a Windows 10 game, it doesn't show up in the My Games list, so I can't verify that now.
