Getting Xbox One Wired headset to work on computer

I have got my xbox one controller plugged in via micro usb to my computer, the 64bit driver is installed. What i want to do is plug my headset that came with my Xbox one, into my controller and be able to record. I understand there may not be a way to listen
to ingame sound, but i am mainly interested in recording. I can't seem to find out how to do this????

    :)

    XB1 Stereo Headset Microphone Issue

Try following the steps at the link to solve the issue.

    support.xbox.com/.../wired-headset-help

If that doesn't work you can try getting a replacement for the headset from the repair link below

    http://myservice.xbox.com/

You would need to click on Replace an Accessory then follow the instructions for the device.

I don't think the headsets that came with the Xbox One is compatible for chat yet. I think you need to have one of the 3rd party headsets in order to use for chat on the pc. They come with the 2.5/3.5mm jack that you need to be able to plug into the pc.
I'm pretty sure your headset has to plug into the pc directly.
