Getting Xbox 360 gold games on Xbox one

After the update came out I tried to get dirt 3 multiple times on my Xbox one but every time I tried to get the game on my Xbox it tells me that I have to make the purchase on xbox.com but when I try xbox.com it tells me that I have to make the purchase
on my Xbox. I tried everything and now dirt 3 is no longer for free on the Xbox live gold . Can somebody please tell me how to fix this for when another good Xbox 360 game goes on Xbox live.

ERROR when trying to buy xbox 360 games on Xbox One store or xbox.com

My account on my xbox one is a child account too and I am having the same problem. I have an xbox one with xbox gold subscription. I do not have access to an xbox 360 so how can I get the free xbox 360 games with gold on my xbox one? I don't have any problem
getting the xbox one games, just the backward compatible 360 games. the message tells me to complete the transaction on my xbox regardless of whether I am on my xbox already or on xbox.com on my laptop. Help please! we want the 'free' games that we payed our
subscription fees for!

 

Cannot purchase "free" 360 games on Xbox one or Xbox.com

It has always been like that not unless there will be an update regarding in redeeming Xbox 360 games with gold on the website. Xbox 360 marketplace has a different structure than on Xbox One Store. Xbox 360 games with gold on the website will need a payment
method. In Xbox 360 console, you won't need one. Currently, you can't redeem Xbox 360 games with gold using Xbox One console and still under progress about redeeming Xbox 360 games with gold on Xbox One console. Either get the games using an Xbox 360 console,
or get the games on the website with a payment method.

 

I, too, have had issues purchasing games with gold on xbox.com. However, I have had no problem acquiring the games on my X360 and XONE. I have already downloaded Dirt3 (and minimally played it) on my X360. I will test tonight to see if I can access it
on my XONE. I think the answer to your question is:

1. Download the "Free Games for Gold" on your X360.

2. Then, download the game on your XONE.

As of right now, you can not buy Xbox 360 games on Xbox One. so you would have to do it on your Xbox 360 or on Xbox | Games and Entertainment on All Your Devices once you buy a Xbox 360 game from either of the two option. they should pop up in the "Ready to Install" area of the Game &
Apps menu. If the game you want to download on Xbox One is not there. try these steps.

1: Make sure the game you want is on the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility List - Xbox One Backward Compatibility List | Xbox

2: Press the Xbox button on your controller (The big glowing X), Hover over the My Game & Apps Window, Press the Menu button ( The button with the 3 Horizontal lines), Scroll down to Quit and Press A. Relaunch the Games & Apps Menu and scroll right and
see if you can locate the Xbox 360 game you want to install.

3: Hard Boot your Xbox One. Hold the Glowing Xbox Logo on your console until the console shuts down. wait 30 Seconds to 1 Minute then turn your Xbox One back on. once it fully loads try looking for your Xbox 360 Title again.

And for Dirt 3. November 15th was the last day to buy it for free. if you where unable to buy it in the 15 day window. then i am sorry to say that you will now have to purchase it with your local currency
