    Getting Windows 7 to recognize an XBox360 HD DVD


    I bought an xbox360 HDDVD in supposedly new, "works great" condition. But hooking it up via USB, the PC does not recognize it. I don't have the remote but shouldn't need it, I think? I've tried it on 4 different PCs now. Do I have a defective xbox or
    do I need some kind of drivers for the PC to even see it? I'm baffled.

    Questions regarding the External HD in One!

    I bought a Seagate 2TB for use
    on Xbox One, but I wanted to
    first have formatted by Windows and then the
    One, to make sure that really
    all HD files were deleted.
    However, I formatted in Xbox One and
    Windows does not recognize the HD more.
    How do I make Windows recognize it?

    think you can get HD DVDs just crazily cheap now from places like HMV.........but yeah, in the battle of Blueray vs HD DVD....MS picked the wrong side and lost out. You should be able to find info on it in the support area, think they just plug in and play

    It wasn't made or designed for use on a PC. It will only work with a Xbox 360 console.

    HD DVD Player not reading discs

    So my lens cleaner just arrived and the HD DVD player wouldn't recognize the disc, just as it was an HD DVD. It still recognizes regular DVDs but it doesn't recognize audio CDs either. Is that a sign the lens has completely gone?

    Did you try any other HD-DVD?

    Did you try the play the HD-DVD on VLC Media player?

    Windows Media Player may not have the codec to play the HD-DVD format.

    The original HDD-equipped
    launch console came with a 20GB HDD. The largest original 360 HDD available is 250GB.
    Does the component cable (RGB cable, I believe that was shipped with it) support 1080p?
    Yes. 1080p over Component was added in one of the earlier system updates.
    Keep in mind that 1080p over Component is not available for DVD or HD DVD playback. The system will revert to 480p for DVD and 1080i for HD DVD. Also keep in mind that many TVs will not accept 1080p over Component.
