    TLGetting to know the 2017 Spring Dashboard Update! :DR: We hate our customers and feel the need for every dashboard update to be 10 steps backwards and remove functionality.

    I love not being able to close my apps, even though the 'always on' nature of the apps in conjunction with the internet services required for a bunch of them frequently results in hard locks or network errors from the idle state requiring a new session.

    Its great that I can no longer address these issues with the apps be closing the problematic app, and now have to do an entire system reboot! Super neato!

    I love the home button too. I was sitting there thinking 'I wish I had more buttons, that did less things! I don't tapping the home button to quickly and easily let me access most of the functionality, I want it to add an extra step by taking me to some
    **** backwards blank home screen which is a hotlink to the actual home screen! Genius! Extra genius is that this lengthens the whole process of using anything at all, which is super duper great when half the online services available push you into a shortened
    idle timer if the app is not the primary running function! I love that extra faffin about with a useless UI overlay only to find my app has idle disconnected me during a process which honestly should have kept the app running on the centre screen the whole
    time. Nice!

    I especially enjoy that the default settings on updates now no longer consider you actively using the xbox a significant condition! Watching Netflix? Playing an online game? Don't worry, xbox has your back! By which I mean prepare to eat a whole bunch of
    lag as we install that 4gb update to an app you're not using, while you actively try to use your xbox! Everyone has a 10,000MB connection, right? Of course they do! We here at Microsoft do, why wouldn't you! And for added enjoyment, because of the new UI layering
    and hiding information, working out that everything is slowing down because an update is running, takes more steps than ever! No more hitting dashboard and seeing a quick look at your pins, tabs and the 'Games & Apps' downloading status, now you really gotta
    get in there and find it, because we know how much everyone enjoys a good hunt!

    Seriously, do you even run QA? How the **** do these dashboards get worse and worse with every update.

    I'm sure there are a few cool things with the new dashboard update but I personally don't like it. It would be nice if I could reassign my home button to take me back to the home page. I can reassign all the other buttons. Why not the home button? Now
    I have to press the home button, scroll to home & press A. This is supposed to be faster? Stupid!

    I've been connected to the internet, signed in with my regular password, and rebooted my system several times and it still signs me right out after turning it back on via controller from sleep mode and logging in. It only happens after I've played for awhile,
    then log out, turn the console off, come back a couple of hours later, turn the console back on via the controller, log back in, the console "logs me back out with a bye message", and i log back in again with no more problems.

    Why do I still have to do that? Been happening since the last update.

    It only happens after I've played for awhile, then log out, turn the console off, come back a couple of hours later, turn the console back on via the controller, log back in, the console "logs me back out with a bye message", and i log back in again with
    no more problems.
    It sounds like you haven't assigned 'auto sign-in' as a default option (you'll find it in settings under Account). When this is enabled, you're automatically logged in as soon as you activate the controller. Too easy :)

    Never mind to anyone who sees the previous posts. I just had to connect to the internet again and put in my Microsoft password when signing in again. I feel like an idiot.
