    i am planning to sell off my xbox one but im not sure how this would work

    first, would they (being the new owners) be able to access my games/dlcs that i have purchased assuming i have removed my profile from the xbox

    secondly, if my xbox live gold runs out would they be able to use my xbox live gold games by using their own xbox live gold

    it's always make sure remove everything and detach every account before you sell your any device.

    thanks for the quick reply but seeing as i'm not getting another xbox one anytime soon are there really any downsides of leaving it set as the home console?

    If you leave the console set as your Home console, the new owners would be able to access your games/gold even if you remove the profile. If they have gold, they would be able to access your gold games if it is still set as your Home.

    It is advisable that you remove the console as your Home and factory reset the console before selling it.

    If the new owners believe they are purchasing the games/gold they're going to be upset if they buy a new console and no longer have access to any of that, and they won't be able to play any of the games while offline either.
