Getting rid of numbers on Gamertag

I used to have only three numbers on my gamer tag, "667". Now, I have seven. I'm not sure how it happened. Maybe I did something without realizing it, I'm not sure. But, I want them gone. I've tried everything, including going all the way up to the paying part. (Which makes me think that I have changed it before). Can someone give me some advice, please?

The only way to remove the suffix is to change your gamertag to a tag that no one else is using and doesn't include special characters.

The new gamertag system adds a hashtag and numbers at the end if the gamertag you want is already owned by someone else (so that more than one person can have the same gamertag) so the only way to get rid of the numbers at the end is to change your gamertag to one that no one else owns.

You can't.

You'd have to pick a gamertag that's not in use by anyone else to get rid of the numbers but you would still have to pay for the change,there's no way around that.

Unfortunately there is no way to get rid of the numbers. This is a Microsoft implementation.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are trying to get rid of part of the gamertag that shows. Unfortunately, this is not possible. The reason the #and four numbers is there is someone already is using the gamertag Nick. You can look
over the
