Getting permanent connection error on Xbox 360

Dear community,

After 4 years I started my Xbox 360 again for the first time. The service for the console I read is over but can I still connect to LIVE and use internet content on it?



If yes, here is my problem and what I tried to unsuccessfully fix:

It started and said a new update would be available. After 10 seconds the update stopped saying the update wouldn't be possible, code Statuscode: xxxx-xxxx-xx8x-xxxx-8007-2746.

I looked it up on the xbox support site and saw that I'm able to update the console by USB Stick as the first steps did nothing. The stick worked, at least the console now says it's build 2.0.17559.0. On console start it now says that an update is available and it can'T be loaded. No failure code. Due to the fact it means an update would be necessary it won't let me log in. I phoned Microsoft support and they told me to reset the console. This would work shutting down the console and then pressing the ODD button as well as the button for the controller sync for 10 seconds. After this step it's meant to beep twice but doesn't. I hung up the phone as it wasn't useful at all and looked the article up that he wanted to help me with. Still it doesn't.

As the system internal internet connection test by the Xbox says it's connected to the network and has internet but not to LIVE (as the Update failure page pops up this moment) I can't log in to LIVE nor use any internet feature.

Via WiFi the internal test fails directly at the beginning.

I checked if it's my router. Gave the Xbox all right to access any port it wants, did it manually too, checked if filters are blocking traffic. Tried out with static and automatic IP.

I also removed everything for the internal HDD to set the box to "factory" but that's just a soft reset, a real joke. I can imagine only an OS reinstall or build reinstall would do. And no, the console is a regular one, nothing flashed or manipulated in any way.



I absolutely have no further clue. I just wasted 2 hours of my life to a bad scripted console OS that doesn't let you do any configurations nor gives transparency.
