Ok...before i start this rampage of complaining about why microsoft is having core services i need this message to be seen by phil spencer i'm done i've supported microsoft since the beginning but now with these hacking groups doing ddos attacks on microsft
its time people need to stand up, to them and get these servers upgraded and prevent these attacks im tired of core services going down, the division come outs tonight as well so this better be resolved before 12:00 i expect better from microsoft specially
when we pay $60 for a membership, just thought people need to know about this and why people have trouble with xbox

Merchandising is getting out of hand.

Call of Duty has become a brand. A brand that gamers buy. It's just good business to market this way. I have a hoodie and keychains. If you don’t like the stuff don’t buy it.

As for the glasses, they work. I have Gunnars that are great and reduce eye fatigue.

Hey there fellow gamer, I get the frustration of live going down and all. But preventing ddos attacks is impossible (thats like trying to prevent cancer)theres no warning signs of when it will happen or how many will take place, Its commonn for technology
that relies on the internet to function. In short your frustration iss shared by many but few options on how to prevent it.

If you want to use cancer as your analogy, it's worth pointing out that there's a lot of preventative steps that can reduce the risk, routine exams and early treatment can prevent the spread, and there are usually many good predictors of cancer risk. So
no, DDoS is nothing like cancer if, as you say, nothing can be done to deal with the attack besides letting it run its course.

So please don't use that analogy again. It's completely inaccurate.

    Hey mate,

Is worth noting that the server issues with The Division were due to the influx of users playing the game at the same time, not because of DDoS attacks

Secondly the servers aren't with Microsoft, but with the developers of the game. So you would have to go to them with any feedback regarding the servers, as MS cannot do anything

    Cheers

Personally, I don't think these supposed DDOS attacks has any merit.

That being said. XBL is simply a switchboard service which you pay upwards of 60 bucks a year for.

When you turn on your console it is programmed to connect ONLY to MS switchboard (server) and depending on what app or game you decide to run, XBL then redirects you to that particular game/apps server. Netflix, Hulu, EA, Ubi etc.

So if you're not having any trouble logging in or getting kicked off of a running app or game. It may seem as if it's the game or app servers. But restart the console and if it then fails to log you into XBL, it's MS server which is at fault.

Or at least that has been my observation and assessment of this strange happenings.
