    My son has received a Xbox one for Christmas upgrading from his beloved Xbox 360.

    We have tried to connect the Xbox one via the supplied hdmi cable to our LG Smart TV (as it turns out not so smart) - Ultra HD MFL68780112 and it is saying no signal. We had the same issue with the 360 when we bought the tv about 3 months ago and just compromised
    and went back to connecting via the AV cable but don't have that option with the new console. From the bit of searching I've done this seems to be a common issue with Lg tvs not recognising xbox via hdmi. Just wondering if anyone has found a solution as I
    have a very devastated little boy this morning and to be honest am ready to scream at LG if it wasn't Christmas and they were open.

    Suggestions for fixes most welcome and will be forever thankful.

    Xbox wont display via HDMI/AV cable

    Hi,

    I have read and re-read the multiple threads on this subject but have been unable to resolve the problem. I have an xbox 360 that will not output on an LG tv via HMDI or AV cable, but it will output via the composite. It used to work fine, until a few
    days ago, and now just shows a black screen with no signal.

    I have tried several different HDMI cables, and have confirmed the xbox works fine via all the HDMI cables I have on another Samsung TV. I have also reset the tv to factory settings, and changed the display output on the Samsung tv to a lower resolution,
    but it still will not output on my LG tv.

    This is the first xbox that I have had this problem with the tv, having owned multiple xbox 360s. As stated I know the xbox is fine, as it outputs via HDMI on the Samsung tv on all possible outputs from 480-1080p, but will not work anymore on the LG tv
    via any output resolution via HDMI/AV cable.

    -Samsung TV works via HDMI

    -LG TV works only via composite cable

    -Xbox is fine

    -Leads are fine

    Unable to connect system to LG TV

    LG's HDMI support is notoriously unstable, not sure if it is the way they handshake or whether their software is poor but it is a long standing complaint you can find in many places on the internet.

    Xbox 360 had issues with LG TV's as well (do a web search for xbox one lg tv hdmi and you'll get pages of results including PlayStation issues connecting to LG TV's so not limited to Microsoft).

    Things to try:

    On your TV that it works with, set your Xbox One to a lower resolution i.e. 720p then plug it in to the LG TV and see if it works.

    Check for a TV firmware update

    Reset TV to factory default settings

    Try other HDMI cables

    Try a HDMI to AV converter for your sister's TV and use AV cables with your Xbox One when using that TV.

    360 hdmi to tv optical to soundbar producing no sound. Xbox one also hooked via hdmi works fine.

    Hi, if you swap the hdmi connections over on the tv so the xbox 360 uses input 1 and the xbox one uses input 2 do you then get audio from the xbox 360 and not the xbox one ?

    Some hdmi inputs only accept the video signal and not the audio which would explain why you only get audio from whichever device is connected to the hdmi port on the tv which accepts both video and audio.

    My name is welcome to the community.

    Hello Vik20, as much as your TV is a Smart TV, to connect the console to the TV would be like all the others.

    Connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI Output port on Xbox.

    Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI input on your HDTV or monitor.

    Turn on your TV and console.

    What can differentiate is the HDMI input of your TV, you may have to do some configuration so that it can receive the signal that comes from the console.

    Set up you Xbox One.

    Xbox One will not with smaller TVs (32inch and 24inch), but works with big samsung (50 inch)

    Hi, the samsung TV is model P2770HD.

    The xbox sends a signal and powers the tv on and off, but no video signal.

    The xbox is working and the ports on the tv are working (i tried direct tv devices and all the porta are working fine.

    The HDMI cable also worked with xbox ONEand another, new TV (samsung smart tv).

    It is an Xbox One.

    Turn the Xbox off. Then turn the tv on . Select the hdmi input on your tv, then turn the Xbox One back on. I have a LG smart tv and it was just a simple syncing issue. Hit me up if this doesn't work.
