    Bizarre Xbox live / game receipt problem

    Bought an Xbox live code for my sons for Christmas from Game via my debit card and it came as a text code on a basic receipt. Dopy dick here then lost the receipt before redeeming the code. Will Game be able to trace/link the purchase to the code via my debit card? Obviously the coffee isn't redeemed so not like I'm blagging anything? Lol

    Problem

    You see the following error message when you try to redeem a gift card code on Xbox Live:

    Can’t retrieve information from Xbox Live. Please try again later.

    Status Code: 80122725

    This means that the card was not activated at the retailer.

    Solution

    To resolve this issue, return the card to the retailer and ask them to activate it.

    It would be really helpful if you could post the exact error code you are getting. Then we can try to get to the bottom of the issue.

    Are you trying to add your Credit/Debit card to your account or redeem an Xbox Live Gold card?

    If you are trying to redeem the card, you can do it online here at Xbox.com.

    Click the "Xbox LIVE" Tab on the green menu bar, and go to "Redeem Code." You can then put in the 25 digit code and the Gold membership for whatever time will be added to your account!

    Hey Lori,

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. What error message do you get when you try to redeem the code? Is this a gold card or a currency card? Keep in mind that the gold card will not work if you have a past due gold sub charge on your account.

    Also, try redeeming the code from both the website, and the console. Make sure you log into the correct account before redeeming the code :
