    Getting error code 0x8007042C when trying to sign in on Xbox live


    When trying to sign in to Xbox live for the first time with my @hotmail.com account (the same one as I'm posting this message with), I get the error code 0x8007042C all the time.

    Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    i cant sign in!!! help!!

    ok, so a while back LIVE sent me a message over xbox live and said that i needed to enter in a security code for my account so no one else could sign in to it. i ignored it. a few days ago i was at my friends house and i couldnt download my account. an error code popped up. now when i try to sign in to xbox live on my computer, it makes me go through all this crap. my email hooked up to xbox live is hotmail and it is microsoft too. i have to enter that stuff in my hotmail account too!     Im getting this exact same problem and cant use my account it is very annoying

    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console > KEEP GAMES AND APPS

    1. Do you get that error code when you try to sign in to your profile or when you try to connect to Xbox Live?

    I'm getting the error code when I attempt to access my Windows Live account on Xbox Live. My 360 has no problems connecting to Xbox Live, but when I try to sign in using my Windows Live ID I get the error code message.
