Getting Error Code (0x409) 0x80070003 Trying to sign into the Xbox App on Windows 10

Started happening like two weeks ago. I've tried resetting the app, tried to troubleshoot the store to see if an update wasn't popping up, and I still get this error code no matter what I do.

The store will now not even let me download things. It'll start to download, and right when it's about to finish it just stops. Doesn't show up in the recently installed section, and the option to 'Install' will just appear again. I can't even sign into
the store. When I tried to troubleshoot, it said that my Windows Store cache might be corrupted but it couldn't fix it. I have no idea why this is happening or what to do.

I don't know if these two incidents are related or not. I'm just so confused.

    :)

Getting Error Code (0x409) 0x80070003 Trying to sign into the Xbox App on Windows 10

    Hi,

There are several reasons why are you getting Error Code (0x409) 0x80070003 on Xbox app, in this case some of the components of the app are maybe corrupted. Here are steps on how to clear the cache and reset Microsoft Store on Windows 10:

    1. Close Windows Store app, if it’s running.

    2. In the Start menu search box, type WSReset (Windows Store Reset) to see Wsreset in the search results.

    3. Right-click on WSReset and then click Run as administrator option. Click Yes button when you see the User Account Confirmation box.

NOTE: If the WSReset utility is not appearing in the search result, you can launch the same from the System32 folder (Windows\System32). To open WSReset tool from System32 folder, please navigate to the drive where Windows 10 is installed (usually “C”),
open up Windows folder, and open up System32 folder. Here, you can find WSReset.exe file. Right-click on it and then click Run as administrator option.

    4. The Store app should now automatically launch along with the Command Prompt. The Command Prompt window will automatically disappear after a couple of seconds.

Update us if the issue persists.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

Just wanted to give you an update on the situation. I still am unable to sign into the Windows Store and the Xbox App after I did what you instructed. I still am getting the same error code, unfortunately.

I appreciate the help. If you have any other ideas, I'm all ears.

    Hello again.

Unfortunately, after uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox App, I'm still treated to the same (0x409) (0x80070003 error code. I also still cannot sign into the Windows store.

Is it possible that my account is the culprit here? As in there is something wrong with my account that causes the Windows store and Xbox app to not be able to recognize it or something? It's strange, I can sign in just fine on Xbox.com and on my Xbox
One, but on my laptop I can't sign into the Windows store and Xbox app.

    Thanks for the help.

Tried restarting with "Normal Startup". Unfortunately the issue with the error code in the Xbox app is still happening.

Not sure if this is important, but there's a set of numbers on the top right of the Xbox app when I try to sign in. It's "28.28.28008.00000". I thought initially that maybe I needed to update the app in case that number indicated an older update but no
update appears in the Windows store.

    1. I have not tried a different profile. I don't have another one.

    2. I have not made any changes to my account at all.

I also tried signing into the Halo app on Windows 10 and while I don't receive an error code, it still wont even allow me to sign in. The grey box will pop up for half a second and disappear, just like with the Xbox app.
