Getting Error 801540A9 when trying to download child accounts to Xbox 360

Try to Re-associate the child account to the parent account. To do so:

1. Sign in to your Microsoft account and select the Family tab.
2. Select Add a child.
3. Enter the email address of the child account that you want to re-associate with the parent account. This will send an invitation to the child account’s email address.
4. Sign out of your Microsoft account and sign in to the child account.
   
   Note For security reasons, you may be asked to verify the account.
5. Select the button labeled Sign in and accept.
   
   Note Email can be found by selecting View inbox.

Error code 801540A9. It has something to do with a child account and an adult account. I set it up a while ago but havent tried getting back on it until recently. When i try downloading my Xbox account on a brand new Xbox, it simply says there is an error
with my sign in credentials. This probably isnt the issue you’re having but if anyone here has any tips, can you help me?

Just to verify was your account associated with a parent or child account? If yes I suggest you to follow the steps in this support link:

It doesn't matter if it is in the xbox one section for as I see it this is an account issue.

At any time previously was your account a child account under a parent account? Error 801540A9 occurs when you start a game on Xbox One

You see the following error code and message when you try to download a game to Xbox One:

801540A9

Sorry, this profile can't connect to Xbox LIVE on this console. To fix it, download it again.

This may mean that a child account is having trouble loading family member profiles.

Solution

Re-associate the child account to the parent account. To do so:
