    Getting Disconnected off of Xbox Live randomly every 10-20 minutes

    I have been having the same issue since 1-2-15 on my Xbox 360 S using Xfinity Technicolor TC8305C. I have been reading many forums (on many sights) and trying all the suggestions. No Wi-Fi sight issues or interference. Finally I had the gateway replaced
    but the same issue came back “getting kicked off every few minutes” I have talked with Comcast Xbox 360 help desk doing many configurations. Nothing worked… I tried the Aris TG862G that some had suggested. It did keep my 360 online but slowed my PC speeds,
    also the Xbox One would not connect to Xbox live using the Aris at all. I did not use the 360 and One at the same time. Maybe the 2 systems on the same Wi-Fi is causing this. So now back to my 3rd Technicolor gateway, Comcast support added port forwarding
    and dedicated 4 ports to the xbox, always was on low firewall, security mode was changed to WPA2-PSK (AES) instead of WPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES) tried channel 1 then 6 then 11. Nothing fixed the issue. As of today 1-13-15 I am still getting kicked off every few minutes.
    Comcast now says this is a known Xbox issue. After all I have tried and many support calls I think it may be the firmware update on the TC8305C since my phone has also slowed since this 360 issue came up. I don’t think Comcast knows what is going on and does
    not want to track the issue to resolve the last firmware update. Speed test on PC is great 124 mbps, WI-Fi sucks so I have ordered a stand along Wi-Fi unit. It cannot get here fast enough.

  5. Hey there, Green Acres! Thank you so much for this information. Once you get that new router, please call up Comcast and have them set up your Technicolor in what is called "bridge" mode. That will ensure that you won't run into any NAT issues with having
    essentially 2 routers. This thread is a little old. If you need further assistance, please post up a new thread detailing what you're running into and troubleshooting you've completed. This way our community can get you the individual support that works best

    I have tested the xbox on another gateway and it works fine... I believe they may be throttling the xbox live bandwidth.. they have purportedly been suspected of doing it in the past

    Hey Mister Beep,

    I do not have any modem or router on my Technicolor. I disable the firewall and I am still getting disconnected. I think my software is up to date. It is eMTA & DOCSIS Software Version: 01.E6.01.22.12. Also the steps I did was :

    Cleared System Cache several times (per Xbox Live support advice).

    Deleted and re-downloaded profile (per Xbox Live support advice); this took about 10 or so re-attempts to successfully download, for some reason.

    Removed most recent Xbox 360 system update, and re-downloaded (per Xbox Live support advice).

    Turned off Xbox 360 power, physically removed hard disk, reinserted it, and finally re-applied power (per Xbox Live support advice); this resulted in the system requiring a re-download of the Xbox 360 system update.

    Provisioned router with set of UDP and TCP port numbers to setup port forwarding to Xbox 360 (per Xbox Live support advice).

    Provisioned router to establish a static IP address for the Xbox 360 (per Xbox Live support advice).

    Technicolor-TC8305C

    Login Info:

    Gateway-10.0.0.1

    Username-admin

    Password-password

    Firewall

    Open a web browser.

    Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. (Example 10.0.0.1)

    The gateway will then prompt for a user name and password. The default user name is “admin” and the password is “password”.

    From the menu on the left select Gateway.

    From the submenu on the left select Firewall.

    Select Desired Security level. "Low" is the recommended level for optimal performance with Xbox LIVE services. (NOTE: Selecting Custom will allow you to Disable the Firewall completely).

    Select Save Settings.
