Getting Disconnected off of Xbox Live randomly every 10-20 minutes

Ok so this problem happened to me in late August into early September and it stopped and now it came back. Whenever I play on Xbox Live I get disconnected every 10-20 minutes. I have tried everything from clearing cache to redownloading profile but those
didn't seem to work. I even moved my router closer to me and switched to wired and it didn't seem to do the trick. I checked the forums and saw that other people are having the same problem and from the ones I saw they had the same modem (Technicolor TC8305C)
and ISP (Comcast). My question is what can I do to stop this issue?

Keep getting disconnected from xbox live

Getting randomly disconnected (roughly every 20 to 30 minutes) from xbox live on xbox one and xbox 360. Any help or ideas as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated and might stop me from throwing both consoles out the window the next time
it happens.

So I've been randomly getting disconnected from live chat parties and game servers simultaneously and it's happening quite often about every 15-20 minutes. Any luck on the DMZ helping this? I've tried numerous troubleshooting efforts to try and fix this
issue. No one seems to have a fix for it.

Sorry to hear about the disconnect issues! Which steps have you tried so far? Are you using any other routers or modems with your Technicolor? I would be sure that the Technicolor's firmware is up to date, and that you have disabled the firewall on
the Technicolor. To get logged into the Technicolor router and disable firewall, follow this post here. Try those
two suggestions and let us know how it goes! If it doesn't work, be sure to post back with the information we need so we can narrow down the issue for you!

I do not have any modem or router on my Technicolor. I disable the firewall and I am still getting disconnected. I think my software is up to date. It is eMTA & DOCSIS Software Version: 01.E6.01.22.12. Also the steps I did was :

Cleared System Cache several times (per Xbox Live support advice).

Deleted and re-downloaded profile (per Xbox Live support advice); this took about 10 or so re-attempts to successfully download, for some reason.

Removed most recent Xbox 360 system update, and re-downloaded (per Xbox Live support advice).

Turned off Xbox 360 power, physically removed hard disk, reinserted it, and finally re-applied power (per Xbox Live support advice); this resulted in the system requiring a re-download of the Xbox 360 system update.

Provisioned router with set of UDP and TCP port numbers to setup port forwarding to Xbox 360 (per Xbox Live support advice).

Provisioned router to establish a static IP address for the Xbox 360 (per Xbox Live support advice).

 

I am having the exact same issue and have followed the exact same protocol that ColdBreeze has followed.. still no luck....I will be following thread...

Comcast Support to get further assistance since this seems like an issue with the gateway. Please post back and let us know how it goes!

 

Unfortunately they seem to believe it is on the xbox end...kind of in a fix...I too believe it is on the ISP end

I have tested the xbox on another gateway and it works fine... I believe they may be throttling the xbox live bandwidth.. they have purportedly been suspected of doing it in the past

Hey, guys! To echo what Mister Beep said, I'm very sorry to see about the disconnect issues! If you could, I'm looking to find out which type of Xbox 360 you've got. You should have either the original 360, the 360 S, or the 360 E. If you aren't sure which
one you have, you can determine this by the kind of power button you have:

• Xbox 360 Original: White or Black power button (depending on which color console you have).
  
• Xbox 360 S: Silver/chrome power button that is touch sensitive, larger circle.
  
• Xbox 360 E: Silver/chrome power button that needs to be pushed in like the Original console, smaller circle.

Hi, I think I resolved my issue. I put my xbox configuration on manual and now it is working properly again.

 

Thanks for the update, ColdBreeze14! For my information here, it would still be helpful to know which type of console you have.

We generally don't advise users to put manual configuration on their consoles; it may not stay set, and even with the IP reserved in your router, it can reset itself. As a troubleshooting step, could you try to set your console back to automatic configuration?
Post back your results for us, and we'll go from there.

 

Technicolor-TC8305C

Login Info:

Gateway-10.0.0.1

Username-admin

Password-password

Firewall

Open a web browser.

Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. (Example 10.0.0.1)

The gateway will then prompt for a user name and password. The default user name is “admin” and the password is “password”.

From the menu on the left select Gateway.

From the submenu on the left select Firewall.

Select Desired Security level. "Low" is the recommended level for optimal performance with Xbox LIVE services. (NOTE: Selecting Custom will allow you to Disable the Firewall completely).

Select Save Settings.
