Getting diconnected form xbox live after 5-10 min gameplay

Hey,

I've never had this before, but i started playing halo 4 again. I moved to a new place connected up my xbox, but now, i can only play halo 4 for like 5-10 minutes before the game stops, shows me the 2 teams, and then giving me the message "disconnected from
xbox live" I then have to go bakc to the home screen fire halo back up and play again for like 5-10 minutes.

This is realy very frustrating, as is just bought a membership for 3 months and playing like this is pretty much unplayable...

Disconecting from xbox live

Hey there, my xbox live connection isn't very good, I only have one bar on my router when i look at it form the xbox connection test. When i connect to xbox live it takes me form 10-20 secondsly to connect. Someitmes it does even let me connect to xbox live.
When i connect to xbox live I can rarely connect to the ea servers and when i do i can barely play a game of fifa. I also lag out of parties and xbox live frequently(every 5-10 mins). I can not then connect for another 10 mins. Please help!!!

 

If you have never had this before, can a simple unplug the modem/router (or both) from power for a minute or so do the trick?

@swisse 89 i don't try it on Halo 4 juste on pes 14, pes 13 , virtua tennis and fifa 14 !!!

 

@ jamrari, i tried switching my rooter on and off again, but the same problem.

This time i was able to play for like 10 minutes before it kicked me out...

When i play i have no lag, and my internet connection is good (i encounter this problem wireless as well as wired)...

So frustrating when you want to finish your day with some nice gaming and youre having a blast an then it stops abruptly...

Still hoping for a solution...

 

Did you ever configure the modem? Ports open or uPnP enabled or DMZ to the IP address what the Xbox gets from the modem? If so, is that still how it was?

What would the connection test say? Can you give us those results and when you press on Y after the test we would also like to have that.

How to run a connection test:

1 Press the Guide button on your controller, then select Settings, select System Settings, and select Network Settings.

2 Select the name of your Wireless Network, or select Wired Network for a wired connection.

3 Select Test Xbox Live Connection.

and the stuff about the modem, i strongly believe it has to be something to do with that, because i moved to a new location (20km from my old location) and it is since then, that the problems have been accuring

When the xbox giving everything is open you would say that everything should be alright. Is this a new modem or did the moden moved with you from your old place?

I moved to a new location, so i'm guessing something to do with new network settings ?

I heard something about contacting my internet provider and ask them to open a couple of ports and something with the DMZ and Pnp or something, i'm not shure...

 

I'm guessing now, but i can imagine that if you have a new modem, (provider dependent) the configuration has to be set from scratch. If you have taken the old equipment with you, i think you have to call your ISP support what to do when you are moved to
an other location with the equipment.

When you have new equipment, for the right configuration and to make it a bit understandable, its uPnP OR Ports open and if you failed those two, then you have to decide to use DMZ instead.

What is the situation in terms of ISP equipment? Do you have a Gateway or a Modem?
