Getting charged for Xbox Live Gold account without access to any Gold Features/Multiplayer

Hi everyone, I should have posted this earlier but I've been procrastinating.

I got my Xbox One a little over a year ago in India. I redeemed the 1 month Xbox Live Gold trial that came with it. Post which I set it to auto renew.
All this while my account has been auto-renewing and charges are showing up on my card statement, so payments have been successful.

However,

A. Xbox Live has been horrible in India. It is frequently down and CURRENT NETWORK STATUS
rarely shows 'All services are available'.

B. I am unable to access any Gold privileges. None of my games allow me to join any multiplayer. On 'Get more with Gold', I either get a 'Content unavailable' or another error. If I go via the store, none of the offer-relevant Games with
Gold are free for me. The only exception is a one time that I was able to redeem a few games in one go (which I think was in my initial free month trial period).

My account info shows:

Subscription: Xbox Live Gold

Under 'MORE INFO', 'You have 1 Month Xbox Live Gold', Renews on '01-04-2016'.

Can someone help me with this? Or am I doing something wrong?

Xbox One: Sharing Digital Games and Gold

Looks like Microsoft has released additional info on how the Xbox One Digital sharing will work when the system launches. Little change up, but its interesting their is no mention of Xbox family share. Guess you have to be logged in at a friend's house.

Sharing Digital Games

Everyone in your home can share digital games with each other. Your Xbox One can become your virtual game library filled with digital games that different people in the home bought. Anyone can pick any digital game on your Xbox One, sign in with their own gamertag and play – even if the owner is not signed in. Like physical media, you can also play many digitally downloaded games without being online, although experiences will be best when connected to the internet and Xbox Live. Finally, when you purchase a digital game, you can start playing even before the entire game downloads.

Because your digital games go with you, you can also use and share digital games when you sign in to another console. And, if you happen to buy a digital game when you are signed in on your friend’s console, your game will also be available on your Home Xbox One console for anyone to use.

Sharing Xbox Live Gold Benefits

At E3 this year, we briefly highlighted a new benefit we’re bringing to Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One. We’re calling it Home Gold. It will enable any Xbox Live Gold member on Xbox One to extend many Gold features to others at no additional cost. One Xbox Live Gold account delivering great benefits to everyone in the home.

Here’s how Xbox Live Gold members can extend Gold benefits including multiplayer gaming, Game DVR, SmartMatch and access to entertainment apps and experiences, including The NFL on Xbox, Skype, Internet Explorer:

Once you log in with your Xbox Live Gold account, everyone using that console can access multiplayer and entertainment apps for as long as you are logged in.

At Home with Xbox 360 and Xbox One

If you are an Xbox Live Gold member today, you are already set for Xbox One. Your Xbox Live Gold membership for Xbox 360 will seamlessly become an Xbox Live Gold account on your Xbox One and you will be able to enjoy Xbox Live Gold features on either console. Need help with game PUBG for XBOX ONE

You do need to have an Xbox Live Gold account in order to do any on-line multiplayer gaming.

Without gold you can access Xbox Live but you cannot game on-line.

What exactly are you trying to do?

I understand the situation you're describing, but I'm not sure whether you're enquiring about getting refunded (typically will not happen, but I'm not the person to decide that) or if you simply want to turn off auto-renew.

In either case, the best option is to speak with Phone Support and they should be able to assist you.

Thanks for your post. When you purchase Xbox Live Gold, your account is then enabled to access Xbox Live Gold features such as multiplayer and games with gold. In order to use these features, you must be signed in to the profile with the subscription on
your console and as long as your account is signed in, any profile can use online features at the same time.

Any game that offers online multiplayer requires Xbox Live gold to be able to access the multiplayer features. Fortnight is no exception to this requirement.

Hi. No, every platform have own rules. Xbox rule and feature is Xbox LIVE GOLD. And without Xbox LIVE Gold you can't play multiplayer games. That's all. Although Xbox LIVE Gold is not an obligation to buy. This is completely voluntary. But without Gold
you don't have several features unlocked.
