Getting an Echo in Voice Chat when playing with my friend

Hi All,

So when I am in a party with my friend my voice echoes (sometimes it is managable, sometimes not). He however does not echo. When other people join the party they also beging to echo and can get pretty crazy!

I'm going to guess it is something on his part.

His Kinect is turned off for Mic so this should not be picking up. He does not have voice coming out of his TV.

I did get him to take out the Mic and give it a blow, that seemed to work for a bit but now it has come back again.

Are there any other options to take in regards to this to try and get this fixed?

Headset Echo

Are you playing a game when you get this echo?

Party chat was acting up on me one day so I used Skype to chat with a friend while we played a game. Skype was fine, but when we started Battlefield and got into a game, we noticed an echo. It ends up our voice was going through Skype and through the game
chat. We had to turn off game chat in the options in Battlefield to get rid of the echo.

I hear an echo in audio chat

I just remembered an important detail. If my friend mutes his mic in either of the aforementioned scenarios, the echo stops. In fact, as the echo happens, his ring lights up in the party chat to indicate that his mic is picking up my voice and, once muted,
it no longer lights up.

I'm getting the same thing. Which headset are you using? I'm using an Astro A40 with MixAmp M80.

i had this problem on astro headsets (a50) using the normal ms stereo chat adapter, if you want the echo to disappear you have to turn the master volume on the chat adapter down a few notches its best if you have one friend in the party give you feedback
if he is hearing a echo or not or u monitor your chat circle if its lighting up when some of your mates are talking that means the echo is still there. when you have turned the master volume down to a certain degree the cho will disappear. and you can chat
normally.

If the problem is only related to game voice chat, which is not related to Xbox party chat, then check audio volume settings in your game.

for example when I play Sea of Thieves, I can use Xbox party to talk to my friends, or use in-game voice chat to talk to my friends in the crew. it has different volume settings which are inside the game.

I can use both of them at the same time but i will generate echo.

Is your voice heard in your headset at exactly the same time as you speak, or is there a slight delay from you speaking to you hearing your voice back?

The only reason im asking is that whenever a certain friend of mine logs into a party chat we always get echo, ie I speak and then hear myself a split second later. Its all down to his cheap headset, his TV is muted and yet we always get echo.

The best way to tell if it is your friends fault or not is to leave the party chat tab showing on the left hand side of the screen, and then you speak (while he stays silent), if your friends chat icon lights up green when you hear your echo then its something wrong at his end.
