Getting a new Xbox One?

I have heard rumours that AMD have been contracted for hardware for a new, more powerful Xbox One console.

I do not own an Xbox One console YET, however I am definitely planning to purchase one. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is true that there is a new console coming out because I do not want to waste money on a current weak Xbox One if there is a more
powerful version of the console in the making.

You can use a data transfer cable to transfer everything across.

If you don't have one of those you can re-download *Everything* you've ever bought from the marketplace, either by finding it in the marketplace or by looking through your purchase history.

and i have map packs on my old harddrive, and heres the kicker. my old xbox stopped working. so is there any way i can get the stuff off of it? if i dont can i just go to the marketplace and download them again for free? cuz i already paid for them. thanks!

 

It is not true. That doesn't even make sense. You think developers are going to develop two versions of the same game for the same console, amid the already large list of current and last gen platforms? <sigh> some people....

The rumors you probably heard are to do with DX12, it said that the X1 will get a performance upgrade later next year. If true, it will effect all X1's.

 

It's true. Microsoft will make a new console that is more powerful.........in about 5 years when the next gen of consoles start. Nintendo will be the next company to make a console.

 

It's actually from AMD who have said they have made a new APU for a console, but then kept quiet

 

it would be a very bad move if MS decided to remake the console, they would basically alienate everyone that has bought a X1 so far, and compared to the sales of last gen, the X1 is selling very well after the same amount of time.

doubtful we will see a new console anytime soon.

The AMD rumor is supposed to be for a new nintendo system. MS isn't even starting to work on a new console yet. probably wont for another 3 years.

 

I made a thread earlier this year leaking that Microsoft which I used to work for was considering releasing a new better hardware console to stop the market bleed over the resolution war. The games will be the same 100% compatible on both consoles and the
OS will be the same for both. The only difference is that the stronger hardware will allow all future games to run the full 1080p 60 fps on the new revision Xbox One, while the same game will possibly run at a lower resolution for the original Xbox One. Of
course Microsoft deleted my original thread because of fear of losing sales now.

 

Xbox blew it I should have gotten the ps 4 all around better.

 

If the rumour were true, Microsoft would be the first out of Sony and Nintendo to roll out a 9th gen console. What's the point anyway? DDR4 RAM isn't the norm yet, manufacturers are still rolling out new PC's still with DDR3 RAM. I'd understand if a Slim
SKU came out. It's Microsoft who manages Xbox, not AMD. Media may make up stuff just to try and get a story, no story no money. That's why you may get silly talk, gossip and rumours from them. DX12 is coming to Xbox 1. But I don't think M has to change the
GPU/CPU/APU and make major changes and hardware revisions to Xbox 1.

 

If they ever did make a new XBOX One that was more powerful, I would buy it. Heck, I would buy a new console every couple of years if they offered it.
