Getting 7.1 sound on a Samsung HT-F9730W 7.1-Channel HT system.

Haven't been able to do it via HDMI, the HTS supports Dolby TrueHD 7.1 via HDMI (I have 1.4 cables) and Dolby Digital Plus 7.1. Setting the X1 to 7.1 Uncompressed and then running the Kinect audio test shows that 2 of the 7 discreet channels are not being
played, only 5 play out of 7. Any other setting except for stereo plays 5 discreet channels.

Has anyone been able to get true 7.1 sound via the kinect test on this type of HTS (or others)?

Xbox One and Sony HT ST9 Soundbar Issues

Sound effects sound just fine but speech tracks don't work right. If I move the character around they seem to kick in a bit. It is almost like it's trying to do directional audio and failing. I'm not having any issues with my PS4 or Cable Box just XBOX One
games. I've swapped my cable and even switch from wiring to the TV and out the ARC to wiring directly to the sound bar.

I also tried swapping the Xbox One settings from 7.1 to 5.1 even though the HT ST9 is 7.1 compliant but still no success.

Anyone else had issues with the HT ST9 and Xbox One?

Is there a difference between Xbox models with regard to 4K Blu Ray/Netflix/Atmos?

xbox one s or x.
you will need more the a center speaker. that what a sound bar is.
also . i think you will need to buy the app to for atmos. on the store frontClick to expand...

I am having the same issue. I can only get 5.1 sound from the Xbox One. I have to use another port on my receiver to my Blue Ray player and PC. The only 7.1 sound I can get is PCM 7.1 not Dolby TrueHD 7.1.

The best I have found is choosing bitstream out and then choosing DTS or Dolby Digital. Personally I use DTS. It shows up as DTS or Dolby digital properly on the receiver and sounds fine with games but if you have a good 5.1 (I have 7.1.2) or better speaker
setup then you really should not be using the console for streaming video or playing BluRays unless you are snapping the video to the side while playing games or something.

You will not get DTS Master or Dolby TrueHD or Dolby Atmos sound from the console until it can be configured to bypass the the mixing and output the untouched stream for the disk via the BluRay app. For this reason use a dedicated BluRay player or a HTPC
for movies.

um having the same problem with One X and Sony HT ST 5000.

Everytime i switch from apps to games it automatically goes to either 7.1 or Bitstream DTS, got the Atmos app and done everything right but still they dont fix it...

I don't know if games support 7.1 or not, but I don't think the Xbox would simply duplicate the rears in to the extra two channels. I would think it would be much more likely to simply leave those channels empty if they aren't being used. If you set it
to 7.1 and get sound from the rear surrounds during games, I'd think that means the games support 7.1. But if they are blank and you want your receiver to matrix the audio into 7.1, use 5.1 uncompressed, not Dolby or DTS. Why unnecessarily compress the audio?

Mine has both - DTS-HD Master Audio and up to 7.1 channel surround sound.
