Get Rid of Kinect (Read)

I think you can see even this early in the cycle that the game makers and most gamers just are not interested in it just like on the first Kinect.

Microsoft can push all they want but dancing and fitness are going to be the only real use for gaming with Kinect.

So Bst.... hows is that XBOX RECORD that working for you? or the NEED AMMO GO GO GO in BF4? Or the Shake the Zombies off of you in DR3...

and ohh yeah... The dance games and the workout games.. make more money then you realize... so in MS eyes... you ask if it is worth it??? Ill let you answer that on your own

@Tohellnbak those are trivial little uses that would have worked with the original Kinect they are not new to Kinect2 of course you coudlnt record with 360 but on the Kinect end it's nothing new same old paper weight.

Answer me this what do you see as the vision for what Kinect can offer in game?

I can't think of anything except maybe a gun controler for fps but Xbox would never allow that because it's to violent and not family like.

what do I see in games using the kinect... not sure as I am not a dev... I am a player... but to be honest.. ANYTHING they add in game using the kinect.. whether it be visual or audio is more than what the 360 had...or the competition has.. since this all
comes down to the console war... If the PS was sold with their eye...for $450 like originally planned.... would we even be having these discussions? probably not....

but back to the question... I play BF.. A LOT OF BF.. the voice commands are perfect... I have yet to play FIFA but from what I hear.. the cursing giving you yellow cards or basketball giving you a tech is funny... Havent played DR3 but the zombie push
is worth it it seems... as for un announced games... D4 looks fun.. I can see more interactive games like that... now lets talk about kids... and younger people... the dancing games... the work out games.... you may or may not consider those games... but
people will and do use the K for those....

But let us ask this... do you personally sit in front of your TV/monitor whatever every hour of every day playing games.. or do you watch any TV? voice control for Netflix... Bing going to music...the TV.. XBOX WATCH ESPN..

we can go back and forth if it is worth it.... maybe not to you.... but to me.... nothing will ever be the same with a console... ***.. I went and played my 360 the other night..... and thought it felt old and outdated with NO features or anything NEW to
look at or use....

No we wouldn't be having this discussion But the other console let people make up there own mind and didn't force it like Microsoft has done there is no console war with me I like games and wish Microsoft to fix these issues. We should be talking about
the games not some camera that they feel the need to keep pushing

I am not saying there is no use for the Kinect it's good for a navigation control if thats what you like and should be a option for you. But as far as games go there is a reason it hasn't caught on so to continue down this path is not good for the brand
as you can see in the general attitude towards Xbox as this point.

I am actually waiting until they get rid of the Kinect to get the One. I refuse to give in to the Kinect.

Overall, depending on sales, for every 4 consoles they sell at 500, that will pay for a 400 version, if it were kinectless. So they are making money....Maybe even more money because if the Kinect 2.0 were sold separately, they wouldn't sell nearly as many
as they have now, making it mandatory for the "bundle."

I will wait it out and see what happens. I have always been an Xbox fan and Halo has been a big part of that, but Halo has been ruined now so I am not in too much of a hurry.

I love Kinect as well... I do think it's a mistake bundling it though unless they can offer it at the same price as the competition.

we will all go back to the same reason.. if it was an option.. dev will not go and see what use they can get out of it...as it would be a waste of their time to work hard on a game to make 2 versions.. one with a K one without.... with the fact that 100
% of the people own one, they will not be wasting their time...trying new things....

Look at this way... we are where we are today by progress.... To get to that perfect VR world...we need to get there from a start... sure the K migght not be perfect... but we all can agree it is better than the original?

Back to the Iphone 5 again.. not like the original "mobile" phone... (mosr are too young to remember) it had a battery pack the size of a car battery you wore like a purse.. a spiral cord and weighed about 35 pounds..

Did we go right from that to the Smart phones we have now?

The Kinect shows great potential IMO, but MS can't wait too long to bring out games for it, especially games people care about. It has a lot proving ground to cover, and if they wait too long to put a real use to it then they won't have a choice but to cut
it from the console. Leaning in FPS's and shouting out orders isn't exactly cutting it... It's a cool gimmick, I guess.. But something I would never use, ever.

Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason was great fun. Might buy the full game.

I am totally waiting for a Kinect golf and/or bowling game.. I had PBA something for the Wii.... was too much fun... even baseball tennis pool possibly... this is only the beginning

^ Logically it's worth it to MS, Logically it isn't to people who don't play these games or don't want it, logically i bought it and don't care or use it. Logically not everyone can afford it

Good thing you put "Read" after...I was about to lick the screen.

I would rather buy a Wii U than purchase anything associated with Amazon.

Peace, J.R.

I think project spark will use kinect.....also, kinect works great with skype, allows me to ditch my old PC camera for a much better setup.
