I saw the intro video on this but have a couple of questions. 1 does anyone know when it will surface? 2 where will it be located in the dashboard or will it show up on startup?

  3. Transferring Xbox One Games on Hard Drive to Xbox One X

    Hey Everyone,

Trying to get ready for when I receive the Xbox One X. I have a Seagate 4tb external drive with lots of Xbox One games and want to know if anyone knows how to make the hard drive work with the Xbox One X without losing the games that are on the drive. Thanks
    in advance for any advice.

You don't need to back up your settings. Your Microsoft Account is stored and backed up on Microsoft's servers. I haven't seen this message yet on the dash. Maybe it for the lab volunteers and Guinea pigs for this preview program thingy. Or maybe it will
be what your X says when you get your hands on one and going through the initializing process.

When Xbox One X comes out, simply copy everything from your previous Xbox One console (original or S) onto external HDD and plug that into the X. Or you can redownload your digital games onto the X. Your game saves unlike Xbox 360, are saved directly to
Microsoft servers. So you won't need to worry about transferring game save files from your games on Xbox One to your new Xbox One X console.

Xbox One has an ONLINE UI aka a Windows 10 like UI. Windows 10 is NOT an operating system. Microsoft refers to it officially as a service. They're unifying services through UI form factor across multiple hardware and devices. Eg.
Xbox smartglass and Xbox app on smartphones and computers.

Microsoft pretty much knows what were like. They do controversial data harvesting and stuff and we use their servers. So their servers should already have that sort of info (game saves, which games we have a valid license to play,
    etc).

Its currently in testing for Alpha testers.

All it does is backs up everything that is stored on your consoles internal hard drive and copies it to an external hard drive. It just makes it easier to press one button than have to trawl through all your games and apps etc. and have to copy everything
individually (like I did when external hard drives were first enabled)

Obviously if like me you already use an external hard drive, then there is nothing to back up (I install everything to my external one)

From what I understand it'll be going live in the next couple of weeks.

Does Xbox One X support 4K video files?

I'm bumping this thread because I'm getting ready to buy an Xbox One X soon.

just wondering if anyone else has been able to play 4K video files saved on a USB stick using either the Media Player app or VLC app on the Xbox One X?
