Get Disconnected From XBL When Playing A Game

Whenever I play a game on my Xbox One, I get disconnected from Xbox Live. This started happening about 2 weeks ago, before I installed the new Xbox Experience update. Since installing that update, it keeps happening. I noticed it start when playing
Dragon Age: Inquisition, but I've tried multiple different games and they all cause the same behavior.

If I try to troubleshoot my wireless connection, it cannot find any wireless networks. Even when I click refresh to search for networks, it doesn't even do any checking (the spinning circle shows up for less than a second then quits).

When I reboot the Xbox, I am able to reconnect to Xbox Live again. If I then watch a streaming service (Netflix, Hulu, etc.), the Xbox stays connected to XBL, even after I suspend the system and come back to it later, like the next morning. It's only after
I've gone in and played a game that it disconnects. I then have to reboot the Xbox again to get it to reconnect to Xbox Live.

Getting disconnected from XBL on 360

I am getting disconnected from XBL on 360 every time i do this : when i return to dasboard after playing a game and when i try to use an app. This is happening since yesterday only on 360. I can connect to XBL, play games or apps without problems on X1
.

 

Disconnected from XBL when playing Halo Wars

It only disconnects me when I'm playing Wars, with everything else it's perfectly fine. It has to be Wars or the 360 emulator, it can't have anything to do with my internet if the one and only time it happens is whilst playing 1 specific 360 game. Every
other time I use my Xbox, like when playing Halo 5, my connection is perfect and I don't get dropped. It's only whilst playing Wars.

 

1st thing to try is to hardwire it , then you will know for sure if it's a wireless problem or not...

 

I am hardwired and have steady connectivity on all other devices except the Xbox One since the download. So I am having the same issues.

There is/was an issue with the WLAN device driver that causes the console to sometimes "forget" about the WLAN card.

Can you try the following:

Turn the console off by holding the Xbox logo sensor on the right side of the console for about 10 seconds. Make sure the LED on the power adapter is turning orange.

Now pull the power cord from the wall outlet and while you wait for about 30 seconds to let all capacitors in the console and power brick drain, unplug your external hard drive and your Kinect if applicable from the console.

After you unplugged your USB drive and Kinect, plug the power cord back in, and start the console WITHOUT Kinect and external USB drive.

When the console is completely started, check your WLAN. If everything works, connect your Kinect and USB hard drive again.

If the problem persists, you might have to repeat all that up to four more times.

If that still doesn't fix the issue, you might have to contact the support for a replacement or repair of your console.

 

WLAan issues was that with the released consoles or today's consoles?

 

I tried unplugging the console several times as described above. Didn't fix the problem.

I ran an Ethernet cable, and it immediately connected to XBL. So the issue is definitely due to a problem with wireless.

How far is your console from you wireless router? Do you have anything that could be causing interference? If it is a fair distance from the router could you possibly move it closer and try the wireless again?

 

It's about 14 feet away from the router in the same room. Full bars, 25Mbps connection. Not interference. It's too consistently occurring when I play a game for it to be anything other than a problem with the system's software or hardware.

@taidara: I could, but I'd rather have working wifi, especially if I want to take my system somewhere else where running a cable is not an option.

I would restore the router to factory defaults , then check to see if there is a firmware update....or test with another router , or take the Xbox one to a different location and test on a different network...restore router first though....that's would be
the easiest. ..

 

Is your console able to stay connected to Live when you watch a streaming service (Netflix, Hulu, etc.)?

Since the Asus RT-AC66R is a dual band wireless router, which band are you using (2.4 Ghz, 5 Ghz)? If 2.4 Ghz, have you tried the 5 Ghz band?

Can you also make your way to the Asus website, and make sure your router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

There's a new NXOE update being rolled out, beginning as of today. Let's hope this will have a positive impact to your situation.
