get black screen when try to load apps or games

Same here. I came a few keystrokes away from ordering a replacement hard drive, when I found the notice online. I went through the online troubleshooting step by step and the conclusion was that my hard drive needed replacement, since I was able to load
a game via the DVD player with it taken out. Glad I didn't do that, and would now be out $90.00 but wonder how many others went through the same diagnostic routine online as myself. Very frustrating.

 

This has honestly been ridiculous. I haven't been able to even get as far as sign into my account so I can upgrade to gold. It seems as if they are taking their sweet time because we don't want to shell out money for a new system. don't worry Microsoft the
next one I get will be from SONY.

This is just getting very annoying. Look, it's Xbox Live that is preventing us from easily playing our games. I know that I pay $60 a year for Xbox Live with the expectations that I would have very minimal problems and that if there ever was a problem that
it would only last for a couple of hours. Also, why in the world does Xbox Live affect offline games?

 

anyone tried manual dns servers? such as 8.8.8.8 + 8.8.4.4? or turning off auto sign in?

 

One way to check b 4 it freezes it to go to the games section and where the recondmondations should be if there thurr then u can play a game or app if not turn of and try every thing again i figured it out earlier today

 

Just loaded WATCH_DOGS on disc without a problem. I have ethernet connection but not Gold or Cloud. Not sure if its fixed or not.

 

This problem with the black screen should be solved.

 

There was some connection issues where some services are limited. But if the problem contue i would try calling 1-800-4myxbox(1-800-469-9269). There they will give you some advanced help with the apps that are not working.

 

Ok I think I have a solution. It works for my friend and me, hopefully it works for everybody until they fix it. I figured this out by accident btw. Anyways make sure you have auto sign in OFF when you turn on your xbox. After you turn it on click the xbox
button and press Y to take yourself to Xbox Home. One you're there then click the xbox button again and sign in. Then play your game. Hope it works, good luck.

 

There's been recent posts about the black screen as of right now microsoft is trying to solve the problem. So far the reason of the black screen is because of the latest update.. anyone who had updated their xbox recently may or may not catch this problem
