Get a xbox 360, or stick with my xbox one?

Also, is an official xbox 360 external hard drive backwards compatible (In case I want to get, lets say Halo 2)

 

as long as its official from Microsoft with the xbox 360 name on it, it will work with backward compatible games

Practically all the xbox 360 hard drives on places like amazon are ripoffs, where can I find one maid by microsoft? Plus, it has to be for the original xbox 360. Could I find one at gamestop?

 

All I can say to that would be to look around, check online with gamestop.com, craigslist.com, amazon.com, as far as price, it will probably be pricy since you can not really find it in stores unless you go to like a gadget collecting gaming store, also
check the stores that say they repair consoles or computers

 

The one probably wont become backwards compatible due to the fact that it has adifferent operating system, Iwould buy your friends xbox 360 if it is running ok, which model is it the origional, the slim or the e?

If its the origional i would pass any of the other two are probably fine.

 

that is true, the original was known as the one with the most problems, and I a seeming that even the E and the S 4GB consoles are having issues too.

 

I personally with that the the statement to skip original one due to having the most issues. I have am elite from 2008 which is considered original and it has been running without any issues since then. It is best to check if there were any repairs done
on it via MS and the manufacturing date.

 

Yes 120GB should be enough in fact I dont know if you can buy bigger drives for the old fat models.

I have the "Falcon" and "Jasper" chip set Xbox 360 and they're very reliable. Unfortunately, I still have the original 20 GB HDD (I am using two 32 GB Flash Drives with it) and they're plenty sufficient for my needs

I would say get it cause I wouldn't hold my breathe on the One becoming backwards compatible. As for the gig size it all depends on how many games you are going to be playing/buying/installing. I have a filled 320 but I also have a crap ton of games.

 

Has the author made a decision yet? quite curious as to how this turns out.

The Xbox 360 E (250 GB bundle) looks awesome, I'm still 50 / 50 on whether I should upgrade to it as my current set-up is more than sufficient for my needs

I have the xbox 360 E 250GB and the xbox 360 S 250GB, both great console, though I prefer the S, I have 3 ps3s for blu rays instead of a regular blu ray cause im gamer like that, but, more memory is always going to be better.

it is better to have than to need, than to need and not have.

I still have a brand new (barely used) Xbox 360 Jasper Chipset model and I am currently using the Falcon Chipset model which is still going strong
