    Hi

When I open Genshin it crashes at the loading screen it crashes

this was what was in the error notes

It wasn't doing this a few days ago. I've tried updating my drivers but it isn't working

Here's the full error log below. I get the same issue every time, "Write to location c108f8e0 caused an access violation."

Unfortunately I have expended all my knowledge trying to get this fixed and cannot find a solution anywhere.

UnityPlayer.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)

Hi there Tim welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. This seems like a really big issue, all those error codes remind me of when I had a similar issue around a year ago. I could tell you all the 10 steps I followed to solve it, unfortunately, what helped me to solve this was to restart my PC as it comes here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/rec...

In the part of Windows 10 click on "Reset this PC" these instructions will help you to solve the problem, you can even leave your important files!

All of my games crash with Error 0xc0000005 Can someone help?

Any third party Anti-virus running other than built in Windows Defender?

Exception code 0xc0000005 is a generic error code that indicates an access violation error. This error occurs when a program attempts to access memory that it is not allowed to access. There are a number of possible causes of this error, including:

    • Corrupted or faulty RAM: Faulty RAM can cause random memory access errors, which can trigger exception code 0xc0000005.
    • Corrupted or damaged system files: Missing, outdated, or damaged system files can also cause access violation errors. This is often due to corrupt Windows updates or malware infections.
    • Software conflicts: Sometimes, two or more programs may try to access the same memory address at the same time, which can lead to an access violation error.
    • Hardware problems: Hardware problems, such as a failing hard drive, can also cause access violation errors.
If you are experiencing exception code 0xc0000005 errors, there are a few things you can try to fix the problem:

    • Run the System File Checker (SFC) tool: SFC is a built-in Windows tool that can scan and repair corrupted or damaged system files. To run SFC, open Command Prompt as an administrator and type the following command: sfc /scannow
    • Update your system: Make sure that your Windows system and all of your drivers are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes cause access violation errors.
    • Check for malware: Malware infections can also cause access violation errors. Run a full virus scan to check for malware on your system.
    • Test your RAM: If you suspect that your RAM may be faulty, you can use a memory diagnostic tool to test it.
    • Hardware troubleshooting: If you have tried all of the above and you are still experiencing access violation errors, you may need to troubleshoot your hardware. This may involve replacing your RAM, hard drive, or other hardware components.

    Unable to play games

Did this game ever work, and is it just this game?

What are the system specs of your PC?

The exception code 0xc0000005, also known as an access violation error. It typically occurs when a program tries to access memory that it is not authorized to access. This can be caused by a variety of factors, such as:

    • Corrupted or outdated drivers: Drivers are software programs that control the hardware devices in your computer. If a driver is corrupted or outdated, it can cause the computer to try to access memory that it is not allowed to access.
    • Memory leaks: A memory leak occurs when a program allocates memory but does not properly release it when it is finished using it. This can cause the system to run out of memory, which can lead to access violation errors.
    • Malware: Malware, such as viruses and spyware, can sometimes cause access violation errors by modifying the code of programs or by injecting their own code into running processes.
    • Hardware problems: In some cases, access violation errors can be caused by hardware problems, such as faulty RAM or a failing hard drive.

If you are getting the exception code 0xc0000005, there are a few things you can try to fix the problem:

    • Update your drivers: Make sure that all of your drivers are up to date. You can usually update your drivers through the Device Manager in Windows or by using the software provided by the manufacturer of your hardware.
    • Run a memory diagnostic: A memory diagnostic tool will check your RAM for errors. You can run a memory diagnostic tool from the Control Panel in Windows.
    • Scan your computer for malware: Antivirus and anti-malware software can help to identify and remove malware that may be causing the problem.
    • Check your hard drive for errors: A hard drive error can also cause access violation errors. You can check your hard drive for errors using the CHKDSK command in Windows.

Games are crashing after a power failure. (Solved)

Players on Steam and Windows may see frequent crashing while playing

Examples of the error codes being seen are 0xc0000005 (access violation) and 0x0000001d (failed install or uninstall of system-level software)

This may be caused by hardware issues such as faulty RAM, file errors or corruption, or PC settings.

In these cases we recommend that you follow up with the hardware manufacturer for your device to ensure that you have the latest firmware installed.
