Generic Battery for Xbox one Controller

Just using a generic pack shouldn't damage it I wouldn't have thought..after all, it would just be like using generic batteries in a remote control etc. The obvious risk is if it is a cheap generic product as they may be of lower quality...as with most things, the cheaper it is, the more likely there are to be issues. Having said that, some cheap products are very good (I use quite a few cheap USB cables and such with no issue)

the battery pack you have will be for the last generation of controllers there is a difference between the 2 generations of controllers making them incompatible with the new controllers

You can switch out the battery in a Ps3 controller or call Sony support for a replacement.

Battery packs for controllers are just horrible in general, no matter what brand (Official or Generic) they have a crap lifespan. Been there done that..

Good old fashioned rechargeable AA batteries are way to go, I recommend rechargeable Energizer batteries.

I've tried with two different rechargeable batteries as well as standard batteries, still nothing. USB cable worked though.

It's worth noting that only the Xbox One X controller (just recently purchased from GameStop) has the connection issue and the sleep issue. I've got an Xbox One generation controller that syncs and sleeps as normal, but it has issues registering button clicks
so i try not to use it.
