    How come that only one of my friends on my friends list, when they turn their xbox on shows on my screen as ******* is online! whereas when my other friends come online it doesn't notify me on my xbox one. I know they havnt got the preference of appear
    offline active as they tell me this ?

    When in an online lobby, what do the crown and shield symbols mean ? Also the little red and white bars to the left of the persons name ?

    Have you got them listed as favourites? Secondly have you checked your notifications settings. Thirdly attempting to swear doesnt help you get anywhere.

    I wasn't swearing - I didn't want to reveal the friends gamer tag !!!! And I will check the other stuff

    Just like Genchy said... typical friends do not show notifications.. they need to be favorites... and then the settings for notify me when favorites come online needs to be checked...

    Some of the simplest problems have the easiest solutions ...

    The swear filter didn't kick in, he purposefully used asterisks so he wouldn't have to reveal anyone else's gamertag since the forums have a no name policy.

    Weird thing is, sometimes friends in my favourites don't always pop up to say their online.

    I've had a few other friends report this issue to.

    One friend said they solved it by deleting the friend in question, get the friend to delete you then re-add each other and it solved it.

    D33dies - my xbox 360 friends show on my friends list on my xbox one, but are you saying that they wont ccme up as a notification when they come online ? Thats a shame,. When im playing a game, the only way i know then is if they send me a message

    I have a full Xbox 360 friends list and only 20% of them have an Xbox 1. NO... Xbox 1's Dashboard DOESNT bring up a notifications bubble when they come online on an Xbox 360 console, but the WILL show if they're online or not when you go to your friends
    list. But.... if a friend or anyone on an Xbox 360 console sends you a message, the Xbox 1 Dashboard will show a pop up balloon for that. Then again Xbox 360 and Xbox 1's Dashboard don't show a pop up balloon when your friends log on SmartGlass or this website
    (which is the official Xbox site).

    Strange,I never put someone in "my favourites" and always got a notification when a friend log in/stream/ect. (Xbox one to Xbox one).
