Gears Of War Ultimate: No Party Chat

Az if you played so much Gears of War how come you don'tt have any MP achievements apart from one for playing a versus match? Anothe profile was it?

 

^ Maybe Az just played private games? ( A lot of the time achievements are locked off in private games )

Mind you, how would he have met all these people in private games?

 

MP cheevos were earned in ranked and private in Gears 1, I earned all mine in private cos I was rubbish in ranked!

 

I was just rubbish at it full stop!

I think I said to you before. I the think one of the biggest problems for me and why I didn't really get into the MP properly is at the time most of my friends didn't really play it and it goes back to what I've said before, much prefer playing with people
I know than joining randoms.

Yea it's deffo best played with a reliable team that communicates.

It's only banter when both sides are enjoying it. When one side stops but the other continues then it becomes abusive language.

Now you might get your jollies from going too far and turning fun banter into picking on the other person, and that doesn't speak well of your personality, but it speaks volumes as to why people prefer to remain in party chat.

 

It took me ages to find "Gears" on my list.

Scrolling through just goes to show how many amazing games were available on the XBox 360.

As for why I don't have every multiplayer achievement on the achievements list, they're not handed out for simply playing the game. They're handed out for fulfilling certain requirements and it was just more fun to play the game than jump through the specific
hoops they wanted to fulfill those requirements.

I have a bunch of friends who forced themselves to go through the motions for most of them but I'm only really impressed by people with the "Seriously" achievement.

I enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd installments for the story but the 1st one is where I had the most Multiplayer fun and that's a big reason why I'll be grabbing the new one.

Now Last Champion... "banter" and "picking on people" isn't something that interests me on XBox LIVE.

That was another great thing about Gears. Post match you'd always be favouriting good players and avoiding any dodgey ones.

What speaks volumes regarding my personality is that I never got so many "Avoids" post match as to end up in the trash can and find myself only playing with a bunch of sweary grumpy teens with personality issues.

Yep and it's like I posted before. People often say Party Chat killed the social side of Xbox LIVE but I don't believe it has for ALOT of people. Sure I bet you could play a number of different online games today and hardly anyone is talking, why? because
I bet a lot are doing what I do, sitting in a party with friends & family. There's your social side right there.

I honestly don't believe the rep system on the 360 worked ( not a clue on Xbox One ) There's even a few folk who use this forum that can back me up on this. We use to play loads on Call of Duty 4. Between me and others we reported loads of games, mostly
for abusive/trash talk but we were often put in games with the same people, days/weeks later, certain GT you always remember lol

I think Party Chat is brilliant. Idiots online don't worry me in that sense but I honestly don't want to waste my time muting/blocking people that are 'loud', playing music over the mic, I really can't be bothered. Thankfully though there's no need for me
to do so

 

The Cheevos were easy to get just had to win matches on maps or even just play certain maps, I got them just through playing casually so I fail to see how someone who played "loads back in the day" never managed to pick more than one up. [Mod removed]

And everyone knows avoid system never worked on 360, but it magically did for you so you only ever played with great people all the time. Yea right.

 

Iv always been rubbish at Gears and i hated it when i finally got someone down just for someone else to kill him

 

Yea my KD was always rubbish, but my "downs" we're loads, I just used to go for the assists in the end and let quicker team mates take the kills, they just had to shout "genched" and the kill was fair, good times hopefully revisited tomorrow!

Magic has nothing to do with it.

It's mathematics. Probability is an exact science. That's why casinos exist.

If you got consistently thrown in the "jerk bin" when it came to matchmaking on Gears there's a reason for it.

 

Yes and there's a reason you don't have any simple MP achievements as well.......

 

^ Got to say I do find it odd.

Az said he played loads back in the day. Yet I checked my old account and I've said many times I played very little GOW online but I have quite a few MP achievements.

Maybe he encountered glitched achievements but I find that a little hard to take in. Usually from what I've seen him post, he encounters very little, if any problems with games, Xbox LIVE etc, it's almost like he has the perfect set up, weird.

 

I'm getting ready to get my 'arris handed to me in Gears MP tomorrow, just like back in the day
