    Gears of War Ultimate Edition issue


    I purchased the game and downloaded it on windows 10

    Now when I launch the game it starts and i can browse its menu options,

    but when i start a campaign or even go to extras then choose performance benchmark the game just closes itself and windows goes to desktop, no error message, no performance issue,

    my pc meets the recommended specs and my windows is up to date

    I'm not sure what is the issue and what can i do to fix it

    Haven't Received my Gears of War Tittles [Case Number: 1329779245]

    I bought Gears of War Ultimate Edition during the promotion and havent received my titles. (Gears of War 1, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, Gears of War Ultimate Edition for Windows 10).

    Hi CaySean1106,

    I have purchased RECORE and Quantum Break too and they work smoothly,

    as for GoW I choose to play offline. Campaign > Single Player > New Campaign > Difficulty

    After downloading the file from your link, it showed that UAC has been disabled, after confirming to enable it, i used the file again and it showed that Windows store cache may be damaged and requested a reset, after confirming it same issue still occurs.

    I deleted also the temp files and restarted the pc but still no success.

    Is there a way to recheck game files to make sure that there are no corrupted files?

    Another solution you may perform is to reset the game from the Settings
    menu. Here are the steps:

    1. Click Start and click Settings.
    2. Select System.
    3. Select Apps & features.
    4. Find the game and click Advanced options.
    5. Click Reset.
    6. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect. Launch the game and check if you'll encounter the same issue.

    I checked the link, followed the steps and the results were as below:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

    Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

    Beginning verification phase of system scan.

    Verification 100% complete.

    Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    Then i performed a reset to the game then restarted the pc,

    The game launched with the cutscene and closed itself when i started new campaign. Still no error message.

    What do you think i can do?

    Sorry for the late response

    I followed the steps mentioned and found that

    • There were no updates found for the game and Windows.
    • Clean boot didn't make any difference unfortunately, issue still exists.
    • Un/reinstalling the game took a long time due to limited download speed and issue still exists.
    Is there something I can do???

    Appreciate your will to help, CaySean1106!

    I just want to confirm something ...

    When I created the local account with administrator privileges and tried to launch the game from the Store, it asked to access my Microsoft account,

    After signing in it shows me "Install", when I choose same destination where the game is already installed, the Store ignores the existing files and starts to download them from 0%.

    Shouldn't Windows use the existing game files as long as I'm using the same PC and synces for account validation? And should I download the whole game files to different destination noting that the first copy I had was in "C:" while the current copy I have
    now is in "E:"?

    Is there a way to make the Store check and verify the files instead of downloading them? And shouldn't the quoted steps fix or remove any potential corrupted profile data?

    Gears of War Ultimate Edition issue

    Finally downloaded and installed.

    After accessing XBOX account and starting new game, it showed same issue.

    P.S.

    Should I try to download a saved file online and try to access advanced chapter instead of starting from the beginning which might be corrupted? And does Ultimate Edition accepts saved files of the old version of the game?

    I will not try that without your confirmation.
